Guided by a commitment to justice, inclusion, partnership, and excellence, Earthjustice works every day to create a healthier, more sustainable future.The OpportunityEarthjustice is seeking a strategic, collaborative fundraising leader to direct the organization's next transformational $1B+ comprehensive campaign benefiting Earthjustice, Earthjustice Action, and Earthjustice International.Reporting as a member of the Development Leadership Team, the Director, Campaigns will shape campaign strategy, align fundraising priorities across the organization, and lead enterprise-wide campaign planning from vision through execution. This role serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership while partnering with fundraisers, trustees, volunteers, consultants, and cross-functional teams to ensure campaign success.This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced campaign executive who enjoys building strategy, leading high-performing teams, coordinating complex initiatives, and helping organizations achieve ambitious philanthropic goals.Position SummaryThe Director, Campaigns provides strategic leadership for Earthjustice's comprehensive fundraising campaigns, including planning, execution, evaluation, and organizational readiness.This leader oversees campaign strategy, fundraising performance, volunteer engagement, campaign operations, and team leadership while ensuring alignment across Development and organizational priorities. The Director also serves as a key advisor to executive leadership and manages external campaign consultants, trustees, and volunteer leaders throughout the campaign lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesCampaign StrategyLead strategy and execution of Earthjustice's multi-year comprehensive fundraising campaign.Develop campaign vision, case for support, funding priorities, milestones, and campaign structure.Direct campaign planning, feasibility, pacing, forecasting, and organizational readiness.Manage campaign consultants and external advisors.Fundraising & PerformanceDrive campaign revenue strategy, forecasting, and performance measurement.Partner with senior leadership and frontline fundraisers on cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of transformational gifts.Develop campaign reporting, dashboards, and evaluation processes to guide strategic decisions.Volunteer & Stakeholder EngagementRecruit and engage volunteer campaign leadership.Partner with trustees, senior leaders, and fundraising staff to build campaign momentum.Represent Earthjustice externally while strengthening relationships with philanthropic leaders and strategic partners.Leadership & Team DevelopmentServe on the Development Leadership Team, helping shape departmental strategy and cross-functional collaboration.Lead and develop the Campaigns team while fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture.Oversee budgeting, staffing, and administrative responsibilities.QualificationsBachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.10+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience, including leadership of large-scale comprehensive campaigns.5+ years leading and developing high-performing teams.Demonstrated success securing and closing complex principal and major gifts.Experience leading enterprise-wide, cross-functional initiatives.Exceptional strategic planning, organizational leadership, and project management skills.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Experience with fundraising CRMs, campaign planning tools, and data-driven decision making.Knowledge of fundraising best practices, donor stewardship, and campaign management.Commitment to Earthjustice's values of Justice, Excellence, Inclusion, and Partnership.Compensation & BenefitsEarthjustice offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.SalarySan Francisco / New York: $196,700-$218,600Other Locations: $167,300-$207,700Remote and hybrid work arrangements are available.
