Apply & track with Apply EdgeDirector, Cloud & Platform EngineeringPosition Summary:Build and lead a unified Cloud & Platform Engineering organization responsible for the infrastructure, platforms, automation, reliability, and operational capabilities that allow engineering teams to develop, deploy, and operate software continuously, securely, and efficiently.Key Duties & Responsibilities:Establish the strategy, operating model, service ownership, and organizational roadmap across cloud infrastructure, DevOps, DevSecOps, database engineering, and related platform services.Build the deployment architecture and CI/CD capabilities required for frequent, low-risk releases with near-zero downtime, rapid rollback, and minimal dependence on maintenance windows.Create a highly automated, self-service engineering platform using infrastructure-as-code, standardized environments, configuration and secrets management, reusable deployment patterns, and developer paved roads.Establish reliability and resilience practices including service-level objectives, observability, performance and capacity engineering, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, and availability engineering.Own cloud financial management and continuously improve infrastructure utilization, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.Establish and lead the enterprise major-incident management, incident-command, root-cause-analysis, and problem-management disciplines, ensuring systemic corrective actions are driven to closure.Partner with Information Security to build security requirements directly into cloud platforms, infrastructure, pipelines, access models, vulnerability management, and policy-as-code.Build durable internal ownership of critical platform capabilities, documentation, and operational knowledge while using external partners strategically.Apply AI and agentic tools to infrastructure automation, software delivery, observability, incident analysis, operational troubleshooting, documentation, and engineering productivity.Background & Qualifications:10+ years of progressive cloud, platform engineering, infrastructure, SRE, DevOps, or related engineering experience, including significant leadership responsibility.Demonstrated experience building or leading modern cloud/platform engineering capabilities supporting production software at scale.Deep knowledge of public-cloud architecture; Microsoft Azure experience strongly preferred.Strong technical experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, automated deployment, distributed systems, observability, containers/runtime platforms, networking, identity, secrets, and database operations.Demonstrated experience enabling continuous delivery, automated rollback, resilient architectures, and low/zero-downtime deployment practices.Strong experience with major-incident management, production reliability, root-cause analysis, and systematic problem management.Working knowledge of DevSecOps and secure cloud/platform engineering.High proficiency with modern AI-assisted engineering and agentic tools, with demonstrated ability to use them safely to accelerate automation, analysis, troubleshooting, coding, and operational improvement.Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Relevant cloud/platform certifications are beneficial but not required.
