Through hands-on programming, events, and consulting, we've supported more than 515 companies to date, helped create 367 jobs, and impacted the lives of more than 120,000 people.The RoleNEMIC is hiring a Director of Consulting & Innovation Programs to lead our consulting practice and run one of NEMIC's programs under a new initiative. This is a senior role for someone who can manage direct client relationships, lead complex consulting engagements from scoping through delivery, and simultaneously own the outcomes of a statewide innovation program.You will be the person clients call when they need a project to actually get done — on time, on budget, and at a level of quality that reflects well on NEMIC. You will also be the person accountable for one of our two programs under this new initiative, ensuring it runs smoothly, hits its milestones, and delivers real impact for Rhode Island's health innovation ecosystem.What You'll DoConsulting LeadershipServe as primary point of contact for consulting clients, from initial scoping conversations through project deliveryLead and execute complex, multi-stakeholder consulting projects, translating client needs into clear project plans, deliverables, and timelinesManage subject matter experts, contractors, and internal staff assigned to consulting engagementsEnsure every engagement is delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard of qualityIdentify opportunities to expand or renew consulting relationshipsProgram LeadershipOwn end-to-end execution of one program under the new initiative, including participant recruitment, curriculum or judging logistics, partner coordination, and reportingTrack and report on program metrics required under the initiative's fundingBuild relationships with program participants, mentors, and ecosystem partners to ensure the program delivers on NEMIC's mission to improve health through innovationContinuously improve program design based on participant feedback and outcomesOrganizational ContributionRepresent NEMIC at industry events, conferences, and partner meetingsCollaborate with the President and program team on strategic planning and grant reportingContribute to proposal development for new consulting engagements and grant opportunitiesWhat You Bring5–7 years of experience in consulting, product management, project management, program management, or a related client-facing role, ideally within health, medtech, or pharma industriesDemonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously without dropping quality or deadlinesStrong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable being the face of an organization to external clients and partnersExperience in healthcare, life sciences, medtech, or a related innovation ecosystem Experience managing or launching a program, cohort, or structured initiative is a strong plusSelf-directed and comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a small nonprofit environmentWhat NEMIC OffersSalary: Up to $110,000, commensurate with experienceMedical, dental, and vision insuranceCompetitive PTO policyHybrid work model — three days per week in-person in Providence, RIHalf-day FridaysThe opportunity to shape a growing organization's consulting practice and a flagship state innovation program
