Director – CybersecurityLead the cyber risk, resilience and AI-security agenda for a Fortune 100 insurance and financial services leader, from its Hyderabad technology hub.The opportunityYou will be the senior cyber risk leader in India for a company whose promise to millions of customers is protection. Your job is to make that promise true in the digital world, as AI, cloud and machine identities reshape the attack surface. This is not a compliance-checklist role. You will build an AI-native, engineering-led cyber risk function in Hyderabad that shapes how the enterprise assesses risk, stays resilient and responds when things go wrong. You will partner with technology, engineering, infrastructure and business leaders across India and the US, and your team's work will reach the board-level risk posture of a Fortune 100 firm.Why it matters now:AI is changing both sides of the fight. The enterprise is adopting GenAI at scale; you will set the guardrails for AI security and governance, and use AI to make your own function faster.Resilience is a regulatory and customer expectation. Continuity, disaster recovery and incident readiness must be proven, not assumed.The India hub is growing in scope. This role helps turn Hyderabad from a delivery centre into a centre of cyber excellence for the enterprise.What you will do1. Own and improve the cyber risk postureMaintain a sharp, current view of the threat and risk landscape across business and technology assets.Oversee cyber risk assessments end to end and drive issues to closure, with clear owners, priorities and timelines.Translate technical risk into business and financial terms that executives can act on.2. Lead AI security and AI governanceDefine controls, standards and review processes for the secure adoption of GenAI and AI/ML models.Embed AI risk into the enterprise risk framework, covering data leakage, model misuse, third-party AI and emerging regulation.Use AI and automation inside the function to speed up assessments, evidence collection and reporting.3. Strengthen cloud, platform and identity securityPartner with engineering and infrastructure teams to assess and harden cloud and platform security.Drive risk oversight of identity and access management, including machine and workload identities, secrets and privileged access.Review security architecture decisions and push for secure-by-design patterns.4. Build cyber resilience and lead through crisesAssess and raise the quality of business continuity, disaster recovery and incident response plans.Ensure plans are tested through exercises and simulations, and gaps are fixed.Act as a calm, decisive leader during cyber incidents, coordinating with global teams and stakeholders.5. Run governance, risk and compliance with qualityReview and assure cybersecurity, compliance and continuity work products: policies, procedures, risk assessments and response plans.Evaluate delivery approaches, risks and issues, and give clear, actionable feedback.Use data and analytics to report risk trends, control health and programme progress.6. Lead, grow and manage the teamLead Business Information Risk Partners and Cybersecurity, Compliance and Continuity Management professionals.Balance demand and capacity, matching people to the right risk projects.Own all aspects of people management: hiring, performance, salary administration, training, development and corrective action.Build a culture of continuous improvement, coaching and an automation-first mindset.7. Manage partners and stakeholdersManage vendor and partner relationships in the cyber space, holding them to quality and outcomes.Collaborate with technology, engineering, infrastructure and business partners across India and the US.Qualification CriteriaWhat you bringExperience18+ years in technology, including 10+ years in cybersecurity, technology risk or information security.Proven experience leading managers and teams accountable for large-scale technology assets across plan, build & run.A track record of managing partnerships and vendors, ideally in the cyber domain.Experience working with global stakeholders, preferably in a GCC / GIC set-up for a US or European enterprise.Must-have skillsAI & GenAI fluencyAI security & governanceCyber risk managementCloud & platform securityIdentity & machine identityCyber resilienceSecurity architectureData & analyticsBusiness & financial acumenTalent & organisational leadership How you think and leadAI-native security thinking – you see AI as both a new risk and a force multiplier.Engineering mindset – you prefer fixing root causes and building controls into platforms over adding process.Automation first – if a task repeats, you automate it.Business connection – you explain technology risk in the language of the business.Crisis leadership – you stay calm, decide fast and communicate clearly under pressure.Education, certifications and good-to-havesEducation: Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, MIS, mathematics, data analytics or a related field. A master's in cybersecurity or computer science is a plus.Certifications (preferred): CISSP, CISA, CRISC / CISRM, CISM, CCSP, and BCP / DRP certifications such as CBCP.
