We’re looking for someone who wants to build relationships, open doors, create opportunities, and grow philanthropic investment across Gallatin, Madison, Meagher, and Park counties.The right person will be energized by people and possibilities. You’ll spend time with donors, businesses, community leaders, foundations, and partners — listening, connecting, telling our story, and helping people find meaningful ways to invest in our community.You’ll also work closely with our CEO, Board of Directors, and team to help shape the future of Greater Gallatin United Way and advance innovative initiatives that strengthen children and families, nonprofits, and the communities we serve.As Director of Development, you will lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy that supports GGUW’s mission, growth, and long-term sustainability.Your work will include:Building and managing relationships with major donors and prospective supporters.Developing strategies to grow individual, corporate, foundation, workplace, and legacy giving.Creating meaningful donor experiences that strengthen retention, engagement, and investment.Leading annual fundraising planning and establishing measurable revenue and engagement goals.Identifying new philanthropic opportunities and partnerships throughout the region.Developing and growing planned giving and legacy giving opportunities.Providing strategic leadership for fundraising events, sponsorships, and donor engagement activities.Partnering with the CEO and Board to cultivate and solicit donors and expand community relationships.Using donor data, CRM tools, and fundraising metrics to identify opportunities and guide strategy.Supervising and mentoring development staff while building a strong, collaborative culture of philanthropy across the organization.Representing Greater Gallatin United Way throughout the community and serving as an ambassador for our mission.You may be a great fit if you are someone who:Builds genuine relationships easily and enjoys connecting with people.Is comfortable making the ask — and understands that great fundraising begins long before the ask happens.Thinks strategically while also being willing to roll up your sleeves and get things done.Can see an opportunity, develop a plan, and move it forward.Is a strong storyteller who can connect donors to meaningful community impact.Enjoys working collaboratively with staff, board members, volunteers, businesses, and community leaders.Is organized, accountable, and motivated by ambitious goals.Wants to help build something, not simply inherit a fundraising program.Required:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.Five or more years of progressive experience in fundraising, development, nonprofit leadership, business development, or a related field.Demonstrated success developing relationships and generating philanthropic or business investment.Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.Experience working with boards, volunteers, donors, clients, or community leaders.Comfort using CRM systems, donor databases, and data to guide strategy and measure results.Preferred:Experience securing major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorships, or other significant investments.Experience with comprehensive or capital campaigns.Knowledge of planned and legacy giving.Experience supervising and developing staff.Experience managing fundraising budgets and revenue goals.This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, ambitious organization that believes strong communities are built through strong relationships.We offer a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience, including:Health, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement planLife insurancePaid time offFlexible scheduleProfessional development and leadership growth opportunitiesHybrid work flexibility based on position responsibilitiesReports to: President & CEOClassification: Full-Time, Exempt
