You'll set the technical vision for a cloud-native AI security platform, build and lead the team that ships it.This is a role for someone who creates direction rather than consumes it. You'll get context, constraints, and a customer problem - not a spec. You're technically credible enough to dive in, review designs, and de-risk key decisions, but your primary impact is through the team: setting direction, driving execution, and shipping on a predictable cadence. You'll partner with Product, AI Research, and our customers' security teams to turn a fast-moving threat landscape into a platform enterprises trust.Reports to the Co-founder and Head of Engineering.ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of new problem areas - scope them, decide the approach, and drive them to a shipped, working product.Stay technically credible. Review designs, dig into the code when needed, and prototype to de-risk architectural decisions.Define and execute the technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for your area of ownership, and make the critical decisions on technology and long-term design.Build and lead a high-performing engineering team - recruit, mentor, and retain strong engineers, and grow engineering managers as the organization scales.Own delivery and the operating cadence. Drive execution across teams to ship high-quality, secure, scalable software on a predictable cadence - running the agile/scrum rhythm (sprint and release planning, backlog prioritization, standups, cross-team dependency and risk management) and tracking delivery health with clear metrics (predictability, cycle time, quality).Establish the engineering practices that let us move fast without breaking trust: design and code review, automated testing, CI/CD, incident response, and continuous improvement.Partner closely with Product, AI Research, and GTM on a cohesive roadmap, and engage directly with enterprise customers and their security teams.Qualifications7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years leading engineering teams.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.Proven track record building and shipping large-scale, enterprise-grade, cloud-delivered products - with deep hands-on experience in distributed system architecture, scalability, availability, and performance.Hands-on enough to stay credible - you can dive in, review designs, and de-risk key decisions when needed.Strong grounding in GCP, Kubernetes, Go and React/TypeScript on GKE, with Postgres (CloudNativePG), GCS, and a GPU-backed inference layer running open-weight models on vLLM alongside frontier models. Practical experience with LLM and agent architectures - self-hosted model serving, inference performance and GPU cost, evaluation, and prompt or model-level security.Experience building SaaS products is preferred.Benefits and CultureHighly competitive salary and equity packageHybrid work environment (3 days on‑site per week), and vacation policyComprehensive health benefitsProfessional development budget, conference attendance and access to AI research resources.AIBound is an equal opportunity employer.
