Director of Finance – Agri-Commodities (Grains & Oilseeds) | DubaiConfidential Search:A well-established, global agricultural commodity trading house with a diversified footprint spanning the GCC, Africa, and international origination markets is looking for a Director of Finance to sit at the heart of its commercial and financial decision-making.This is a senior, highly independent mandate reporting directly to the Global Head of the business. You'll be the financial backbone of a trading operation moving significant volumes of grains, oilseeds, and related agri-commodities across complex, multi-jurisdictional supply chains, partnering closely with trading, procurement and executive leadership rather than sitting purely in a back-office reporting function.What the role is really about:This isn't a traditional controller or reporting-focused finance seat. You'll need genuine fluency in how a physical/futures trading business actually works financially; hedging, mark-to-market, purchase & sales mechanics, consolidation across multiple entities and the international reporting standards that come with cross-border commodity flows. You'll be trusted to manage banking and financing relationships directly and to be a real strategic partner to trading and senior management, not just someone who closes the books.What we're looking for:Senior finance leadership experience within agri-commodity trading, ideally grains, oilseeds, origination, or distributionGenuine international exposure; Black Sea (Russia/Ukraine), South America, North America, or Asia origination or destination marketsStrong technical grasp of physical and futures trading from a finance lens: hedging, MTM, derivativesExperience with consolidation, purchase & sales accounting, and international trading/reporting standardsEstablished banking and trade finance relationshipsBackground with a leading global agri-commodity trading house (ABCD-tier or equivalent multinational merchant) strongly preferred.Comfort operating in a GCC or MENA context, prior exposure to Saudi, Egypt, or the wider region is a strong plus.English & Arabic language ability (this is a strong preference) given the dynamics of the region.Based in Dubai, or genuinely willing to relocate.A track record of operating independently and confidently at senior stakeholder level, with the judgment to navigate a fast-moving, deadline-driven trading environmentWhy this role:You'll have real influence, not a narrow reporting mandate, but a seat close to the trading and origination decisions that drive the business, in an organization with genuine scale and a long-standing reputation in the agri-commodity space.This search is being run on a confidential basis.
