This is an exciting opportunity for a finance leader who can drive financial performance, strengthen controls, and support business growth within a world-class hospitality environment.Job Purpose:To lead and oversee the hotel's financial management and accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective financial controls, budgeting, cost management and compliance with applicable requirements. The position is responsible for supporting management decision-making through reliable financial information and working closely with all departments to maintain sound financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee the hotel's Finance and accounting activities.Establish and maintain appropriate financial controls, accounting procedures and reporting practices.Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and maintenance of accounting records.Prepare and review financial reports and provide relevant financial information and analysis to the General Manager and management.Lead the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets, forecasts and financial plans.Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts and identify significant variances and required actions.Monitor hotel revenues, expenses, costs and profitability and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.Coordinate with Revenue Management and other departments regarding financial forecasts, revenue performance and business plans.Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, banking and other Finance activities as applicable.Monitor payroll-related financial information and coordinate with Human Resources regarding payroll processing and relevant employee cost information.Establish and maintain appropriate controls over cash, revenue, inventory, purchasing and other financial resources.Work closely with Purchasing, Stores and operational departments to support effective cost control and resource management.Monitor inventory and stock-related financial controls and coordinate with relevant departments regarding discrepancies and corrective actions.Support the development and implementation of financial procedures, systems, controls and reporting during the hotel's pre-opening period.Participate in the setup and testing of financial systems, processes, controls and reporting required for hotel opening.Coordinate with external auditors, banks, professional advisors and relevant authorities as applicable.Ensure financial records and supporting documentation are maintained appropriately.Lead, coach and develop Finance employees and ensure appropriate training and support.Monitor employee performance and ensure professional standards, confidentiality and appropriate financial controls are maintained.Provide financial advice and recommendations to the General Manager and Department Heads to support business decisions.Monitor departmental performance and implement corrective actions where required.Ensure compliance with applicable hotel policies, financial procedures, accounting requirements and other relevant requirements.Maintain effective communication with the General Manager and Department Heads regarding financial performance, risks, priorities and issues.Support continuous improvement of financial controls, reporting accuracy, cost efficiency and overall hotel financial performance.Qualifications & Experiance:Bachelor's degree or relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field preferred.Significant experience in hotel Finance or accounting, preferably within an upscale or full-service hotel environment.Previous experience in a senior Finance or Financial Controller position.Strong knowledge of hotel accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and cost control.Strong understanding of financial controls and hotel revenue and expense management.Experience with hotel accounting systems and relevant financial software.Experience in an opening or pre-opening hotel environment is highly desirable.Experience in an independent hotel environment is an advantage.Skills & Competencies:Strong financial and accounting knowledge.Strong analytical and numerical skills.Strong understanding of financial controls and cost management.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Strong planning, organization and reporting skills.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Ability to analyze financial information and provide practical recommendations.Strong communication and coordination skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional integrity.Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.Professional, accountable and results-oriented approach.Language Requirement:Good to excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.Additional local or international languages are an advantage.What we Offer:Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.Comprehensive medical insurance coverage.Company-provided accommodation.Daily meals provided.Transportation provided by the company.Opportunity to work in one of Ethiopia's most exciting luxury hospitality destinations.Professional growth and career advancement opportunities.Annual Leave as per Ethiopia Labour law.Annual Flight Ticket to your home country.
