The property is undergoing a full renovation of its 503 guest rooms, meeting spaces, public areas, restaurants, and bars, inspired by the island’s natural landscape and beauty. The redesign also features the new Sheraton concept with lobby co-working spaces and a bar that transitions from a daytime coffee spot to an evening cocktail venue.Role Description The Director of Housekeeping is responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations to ensure clean, safe, and well-maintained guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. This full-time, on-site role based in San Juan includes leading and coaching the housekeeping and laundry teams, implementing standards and procedures, and monitoring daily performance to uphold brand and cleanliness standards. The role involves coordinating schedules, managing inventory of linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies, and working closely with Engineering, Front Office, and Food & Beverage to support smooth hotel operations and room readiness. The Director manages departmental budgets, controls expenses, and tracks productivity while driving guest satisfaction scores through effective service recovery and continuous improvement initiatives. Additional responsibilities include training team members, enforcing safety and hygiene protocols, supporting renovation-related room readiness, and ensuring compliance with company and local regulations.Qualifications Strong Supervisory Skills, including team leadership, coaching, scheduling, and performance management.Proven ability to drive Guest Satisfaction and Customer Service through high housekeeping standards and effective service recovery.Hands-on experience with Laundry operations, including linen quality control, inventory management, and equipment care.Demonstrated Budgeting skills with experience managing departmental costs, labor, and supplies.Several years of progressive housekeeping management experience in hotels or resorts, preferably in full-service or convention properties.Knowledge of housekeeping best practices, cleaning products, safety standards, and OSHA or local health regulations.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Effective communication skills in English; Spanish proficiency strongly preferred.Comfort with basic technology, including property management systems and housekeeping or task management tools.Availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.Associate or bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
