Team members join a collaborative environment focused on quality care, innovation, and community impact.Role Description The Director of Lab Services is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Tulsa, OK, responsible for overseeing all clinical laboratory operations within Hillcrest HealthCare System. This role manages laboratory services across multiple departments, including staffing, workflow, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance to ensure accurate and timely diagnostic testing. The Director collaborates with physicians, nursing, and administrative leadership to align laboratory practices with clinical needs and organizational goals, including test utilization, turnaround times, and safety standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising laboratory personnel, optimizing equipment and technology use, monitoring budgets and performance metrics, and maintaining accrediting and licensing requirements. The Director also leads continuous improvement initiatives, staff development, and policy updates to support high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.Qualifications Strong foundation in Medical Technology, including laboratory instrumentation, diagnostic testing methodologies, and quality control processes.Demonstrated Laboratory Skills in specimen processing, workflow management, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.Knowledge of Pathology, including interpretation of test results in collaboration with pathologists and other clinicians.Expertise in Laboratory Medicine and Medicine sufficient to guide test selection, clinical integration, and evidence-based practice.Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field; advanced degree or certification (e.g., MLS(ASCP), MT(ASCP)) preferred.Progressive leadership experience in a hospital or health system laboratory setting, including supervision of multidisciplinary teams.Familiarity with CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, and other relevant regulatory and accrediting bodies.Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across clinical and administrative stakeholders.
