Job Title: Director of Learning & Development

Location: Denton, TX | Future Location: Lewisville, TXCornerStone Professional Placement is seeking a Director of Learning & Development for an exciting direct-hire opportunity with a fast-growing North Texas manufacturing and technology organization.This isn't an opportunity to inherit someone else's training program.

It's an opportunity to build the university yourself.The Director of Learning & Development will have the unique opportunity to build an internal technology and engineering university from the ground up, including a dedicated technical training lab, curriculum, classroom instruction, assessments, and employee development programs. This highly visible role is ideal for an L&D leader who enjoys getting close to the technology—learning directly from engineers, technicians, and subject-matter experts and transforming complex technical knowledge into engaging, scalable training.The company is currently located in Denton and is preparing to move into a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in Lewisville designed around technology, innovation, collaboration, and an exceptional employee experience. The new campus will feature amenities including a gym with an on-site trainer, running trails, chef-prepared breakfast, lunch and dinner, pickleball, nap pods, on-site car detailing, and on-site dry cleaning.

Responsibilities

Build and lead the company's internal technology and engineering university from the ground up.Help develop and utilize a dedicated technical training lab and classroom environment.Assess training and skill-development needs across engineering, manufacturing, technical, and professional teams.Work directly with engineers, technicians, and subject-matter experts to understand how technical jobs, equipment, and processes are performed.Translate complex engineering and technical knowledge into clear, practical, and scalable curriculum.Develop technical documentation, classroom materials, assessments, learning paths, and training resources.Personally deliver engaging instructor-led and classroom training for engineers, technicians, and other employees.Develop training around engineering and technical skills, processes, efficiencies, best practices, and standardized ways of working.Establish methods for tracking employee training, competency, completion, and overall program effectiveness.Develop and deliver selected leadership and soft-skills training.Incorporate the organization's process-driven operating approach into training where appropriate.Continuously improve curriculum as technology, processes, and business needs evolve.

Requirements

Learning & Development, technical training, instructional design, or related experience within an engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or similarly technical environment.Demonstrated experience developing and delivering training for engineers, technicians, or other technical audiences.Strong technical writing and curriculum-development skills.Ability to observe unfamiliar technical work, understand how it is performed, and translate that knowledge into effective training.Strong classroom facilitation and instructor-led training experience.Engaging and concise communication style with the ability to hold the attention of highly technical audiences.Proven ability to partner effectively with engineers and subject-matter experts and convert their expertise into scalable learning programs.Experience developing assessments and measuring training effectiveness.Ability to develop both technical and selected soft-skills content.Builder mentality with demonstrated experience creating programs—not simply administering established training.Compensation and Benefits:Employment Type: Direct HireSchedule: Full-Time
