Director of Learning Experience, ElectivesAbout ElectivesElectives is a B2B live learning platform. Employees learn from instructors they will not find anywhere else: professors, executives, astronauts, Olympic athletes, comedians, best-selling authors, all teaching live over video. Companies use us through Electives Membership, a subscription of daily live classes, or through private programs built for one company. We are a small, venture-backed team based in Boston.The roleYou are responsible for the content on the Electives platform: which topics we offer, which instructors teach them, and how they come together into programs for our clients. You forecast where demand for workplace learning is heading, then build the instructor bench to meet it. You advise clients on the programs and instructors that fit their goals. Roughly 40 percent of your time goes to instructors and 20 percent to clients. The rest goes to the forecast, program design, and the operations behind every class. You will inherit an active instructor community and a full class calendar.What you'll doForecast content demand twice a year from client requests, class data, and market trends. Present the findings to the team, to clients, and in the occasional webinar.Recruit, vet, onboard, and coach the instructors who fill the gaps the forecast reveals, fast enough that new topics launch ahead of demand.Design learning programs for specific learner groups, such as new managers, high-potential individual contributors, or an entire workforce learning to use AI.Work with clients to understand their goals, then recommend the programs and instructors that fit.Own the Membership class calendar and hold every class to a high standard: clear class pages, current content, instructors who earn high NPS.Put in place the processes that keep class quality high as we grow, so it does not depend on you being in every class.What you bring8+ years in learning and development or learning design. You have built programs, not just bought them.Experience helping HR leaders decide where to spend a learning budget, then showing them what it returned.A record of finding, vetting, and coaching great facilitators or instructors.Comfort making decisions from data: bookings, NPS, attendance, surveys.Startup pace with operational discipline. You hit deadlines, keep data clean, and notice when a number slips before anyone asks.Clear writing and confident speaking, including the occasional webinar.Bonus: experience running live virtual learning at scale, building AI upskilling programs, or measuring learning impact beyond satisfaction scores.
