As a systemically important market in the Middle East and North Africa, Egypt enables Standard Bank to expand its franchise, connect trade flows across the continent, and serve clients working at the intersection of African and global markets.Role Description The Director of Liquidity Management is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing the bank’s liquidity strategy, ensuring adequate funding, and optimizing the balance sheet in line with regulatory and internal risk frameworks. This role includes monitoring daily liquidity positions, analyzing cash flows, and managing short-term funding activities across currencies and entities. The director will design and maintain liquidity policies, stress testing frameworks, and contingency funding plans, while collaborating with treasury, risk, finance, and business units to align liquidity management with commercial objectives. The role also involves preparing reports for senior leadership and regulators, advising on product and transaction structures from a liquidity perspective, and driving continuous improvement in liquidity analytics, tools, and governance.Qualifications Strong foundation in Finance and Financial Planning, with the ability to design and implement liquidity strategies and funding plans.Proficiency in Financial Statements and Financial Reporting, including interpreting balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow data for liquidity purposes.Advanced Analytical Skills for modeling liquidity scenarios, conducting stress tests, and evaluating funding and investment options.Extensive experience in bank treasury or liquidity management, preferably within regional or international financial institutions.In-depth knowledge of regulatory liquidity frameworks (e.g., LCR, NSFR) and risk management principles.Strong leadership capabilities, with experience guiding cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex financial information into clear insights.Relevant academic background such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, ACT) are an advantage.Ability to work effectively in a remote setting, demonstrating high levels of accountability, collaboration, and adaptability in a global environment.
