Apply & track with Apply EdgeLogistics Director – Saudi ArabiaA leading organisation is seeking an experienced Logistics Director to oversee and lead all logistics operations for a major, high-profile development project in Saudi Arabia. This is a senior, site-based leadership position responsible for developing and implementing the overall logistics strategy and ensuring the efficient movement of people, materials, equipment, vehicles, and resources across the project.The role will operate on a hybrid basis between Riyadh and the project site, with a strong site presence required to manage day-to-day logistics activities and coordinate closely with project leadership, contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic leadership and overall direction for all project logistics and site logistics operations.Develop, implement, and continuously improve the project-wide logistics strategy, plans, procedures, and control systems.Oversee the movement, delivery, storage, and distribution of construction materials, plant, equipment, and other resources.Manage site access, traffic management, vehicle movements, laydown areas, storage facilities, delivery scheduling, and logistics compounds.Coordinate logistics requirements across multiple contractors, consultants, suppliers, and project teams to minimise disruption and maximise site efficiency.Establish effective systems for delivery management, material flow, site transportation, and resource allocation.Work closely with construction, engineering, procurement, commercial, HSE, security, and programme teams to ensure logistics activities align with overall project requirements.Monitor logistics performance, identify potential constraints and bottlenecks, and implement proactive solutions to maintain programme progress.Lead the planning and coordination of logistics requirements during different phases of construction and project development.Ensure all logistics activities comply with relevant HSE requirements, Saudi regulations, project standards, and operational procedures.Manage logistics-related risks, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans where required.Provide regular reporting to senior project leadership on logistics performance, risks, constraints, resource requirements, and upcoming activities.Lead and develop logistics teams, promoting a strong culture of collaboration, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.Liaise with local authorities, transport providers, suppliers, and other external stakeholders where required.Support the wider project leadership team in resolving complex logistical challenges and ensuring the project remains on programme.Candidate ProfileThe successful candidate will be a highly experienced Logistics Director / Senior Logistics Manager with a strong background in major construction, infrastructure, urban development, or mega-project environments. Experience managing logistics across large and complex sites, with multiple contractors and significant volumes of people, materials, and equipment, is highly desirable.The individual should demonstrate:Significant senior-level experience in construction and project logistics.Proven experience developing and implementing logistics strategies for large-scale projects.Strong understanding of site logistics, traffic management, material handling, access management, and supply-chain coordination.Excellent leadership and stakeholder-management capabilities.Strong commercial awareness and an ability to manage logistics efficiently within programme and budget constraints.Excellent communication, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.The ability to operate confidently at both strategic and operational levels.Experience working in Saudi Arabia or the wider GCC would be advantageous.Location & BenefitsThis is a hybrid role, with the successful candidate working between Riyadh and the project site in Saudi Arabia.
