This position will work closely with the Managing Partner, Executive Committee, attorneys, and administrative leadership to strengthen the firm’s market position, enhance client relationships, increase visibility, and support the growth objectives of the firm.The ideal candidate will bring strong strategic marketing experience, excellent communication skills, and a practical understanding of the legal services industry. Experience working in a law firm or professional services environment is highly preferred. Key ResponsibilitiesMarketing & Business Development StrategyDevelop and execute an integrated marketing and business development strategy aligned with the firm’s strategic objectives.Partner with firm leadership and practice-group leaders to identify opportunities for revenue growth, client development, and market expansion.Develop marketing plans for key practice areas, industries, and geographic markets.Track marketing and business development initiatives and measure results against established goals.Provide leadership with market intelligence, competitive analysis, and recommendations for positioning the firm. Brand Management & CommunicationsManage and strengthen the firm’s brand identity and market positioning.Oversee the firm’s website, attorney biographies, practice-area descriptions, social media presence, and other external communications.Develop and edit firm announcements, newsletters, client alerts, thought-leadership content, press releases, and other marketing materials.Ensure consistency and professionalism across all firm communications and marketing collateral.Coordinate media relations and identify appropriate opportunities to increase attorney and firm visibility. Business Development SupportWork directly with attorneys to develop and implement individual and practice-group business development plans.Support attorneys in identifying prospective clients and developing strategies to expand existing client relationships.Coordinate client meetings, presentations, seminars, webinars, and other business development activities.Develop tools and resources to help attorneys effectively communicate the firm’s value proposition. Digital MarketingOversee the firm’s digital marketing strategy, including website content, SEO, email communications, and social media.Monitor website analytics and digital engagement to identify opportunities for improvement.Work with external vendors and technology providers as appropriate. Events & SponsorshipsDevelop and manage the firm’s calendar of client events, seminars, conferences, receptions, and community activities.Evaluate sponsorship and event opportunities based on strategic value and return on investment.Coordinate logistics, communications, invitations, materials, and follow-up activities. Legal Rankings & AwardsManage submissions for legal industry directories and rankings, including attorney and practice-group nominations.Coordinate submissions for publications and professional organizations.Identify appropriate opportunities for attorney recognition and firm awards.Maintain a calendar of submission deadlines and ensure high-quality, timely submissions. Leadership & Vendor ManagementManage the firm’s marketing function and provide direction, priorities, and resources to marketing staff.Establish and manage the marketing budget.Select and oversee outside marketing agencies, consultants, designers, and other vendors.Negotiate vendor agreements and monitor performance and deliverables.Establish efficient processes and best practices for the firm’s marketing activities. QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.5 - 7+ years of progressive marketing and business development experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services organization.Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic marketing plans.Strong understanding of professional services marketing and business development.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Strong project management and organizational abilities.Ability to build credibility and effective working relationships with attorneys and firm leadership.Experience managing budgets, vendors, and marketing resources.Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and commonly used marketing and CRM platforms. Preferred ExperiencePrior experience working in a midsize.Knowledge of the California legal market.Experience supporting attorneys and practice groups in business development initiatives.Familiarity with legal rankings and directories such as Chambers, Best Lawyers, and Legal 500.Experience with CRM systems, marketing automation, website content management, and digital analytics.Experience managing a small marketing team or leading cross-functional projects.
