Apply & track with Apply EdgeSummary of FunctionsThe Director of Marketing provides strategic leadership for the marketing, brand, and public relations strategy of Northern Quest Resort & Casino. This role develops and executes integrated marketing strategies that drive revenue growth, guest acquisition, visitation, and brand visibility across gaming, resort, entertainment, retail, and sponsorship initiatives.The Director oversees advertising, digital marketing, brand management, media strategy, and public relations while partnering with gaming, resort operations, entertainment, loyalty, and other enterprise leaders to align marketing strategies with operational priorities, guest experience objectives, and financial performance goals.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMarketing Strategy, Brand & Public RelationsEstablish and lead integrated marketing, brand, and public relations strategies that drive visitation, gaming revenue, resort utilization, and brand awareness.Ensure consistent brand positioning and messaging across marketing channels, public relations initiatives, and guest communications.Direct public relations, media engagement, reputation management, crisis communications, and responses to issues impacting the Northern Quest brand.Evaluate market trends, guest insights, competitive activity, and performance data to identify opportunities to increase market share and brand relevance.Property Marketing & Revenue GrowthPartner with gaming and resort leadership to develop marketing strategies supporting casino gaming, hotel, food and beverage, spa, retail, entertainment, and other property offerings.Develop initiatives that increase guest visitation, rated play, resort occupancy, cross-property engagement, and non-gaming revenue.Coordinate marketing support for property events, promotions, entertainment programming, sponsorships, and community partnerships.Collaborate with loyalty marketing, player development, and database marketing teams to support guest acquisition, retention, and reinvestment strategies.Advertising, Digital & MediaOversee advertising and marketing campaigns across digital, broadcast, print, social media, and emerging platforms.Direct agency partnerships, media planning, creative strategy, and vendor relationships to maximize marketing effectiveness and return on investment.Ensure website, social media, digital advertising, and other marketing platforms align with brand standards and organizational objectives.Analytics & Financial ManagementEstablish performance metrics and reporting frameworks to evaluate marketing effectiveness, guest acquisition, campaign performance, and return on marketing investment.Utilize guest data, analytics, market research, and competitive intelligence to guide strategic decision-making.Develop and manage the marketing department operating budget and ensure responsible allocation of resources.Evaluate marketing investments, media expenditures, agencies, and vendor relationships to support financial objectives.Regulatory ComplianceEnsure marketing activities comply with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians–State of Washington Gaming Compact, NIGC regulations, Tribal policies, internal controls, and other applicable requirements.Maintain departmental policies, procedures, and operational standards supporting regulatory compliance and enterprise governance.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesProvides leadership and oversight for the Northern Quest Resort & Casino marketing department and associated functional teams, including marketing leadership and professional staff.Responsibilities include hiring, coaching, performance management, disciplinary action, professional development, workforce planning, organizational structure, staffing levels, and establishment of departmental goals and performance expectations.EducationBachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Hospitality Management, or related field.Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related discipline preferred.ExperienceSeven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, preferably within gaming, hospitality, entertainment, or resort environments.Five (5) years of management experience leading marketing teams or related functional areas.Demonstrated experience managing integrated marketing campaigns, advertising strategies, brand development, budgets, vendors, and agency partnerships.Experience within Tribal gaming or another highly regulated industry preferred.Skills & AbilitiesStrong strategic marketing leadership with the ability to translate business objectives into measurable initiatives.Advanced understanding of integrated marketing, analytics, campaign measurement, and return-on-investment evaluation.Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.Ability to analyze market data, guest insights, and competitive activity to guide strategic decisions.Excellent leadership, organizational development, communication, and presentation skills.Ability to effectively partner with executive leadership, department leaders, team members, vendors, agencies, and external stakeholders.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced gaming and hospitality environment.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, digital marketing tools, and marketing analytics platforms.Other RequirementsAbility to obtain and maintain required gaming licensure.Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.Ability to maintain consistent, regular attendance.Valid driver’s license and insurability if operating a Tribal vehicle.Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentWork is performed primarily in an office and casino resort environment and frequently involves sedentary work and use of computers and office equipment. The position may occasionally require lifting or moving objects up to 25 pounds and standing, walking, or moving throughout the property.The employee may be exposed to tobacco smoke, moderate noise levels, large guest crowds, and other conditions typical of a casino and entertainment environment. Attendance at events, promotions, meetings, and community functions may be required.Local travel may occasionally be required for partnerships, sponsorships, and promotional events.
