Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Director of Marketing to lead and coordinate marketing across our wholesale B2B and direct-to-consumer businesses, with a strong focus on supporting our retail partners, driving brand awareness, and growing the Free Country brand.Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall marketing strategy across wholesale, DTC, digital, social, and brand marketing, partnering with ownership to align priorities with broader business objectives.
• Drive brand awareness and strengthen the visibility of the Free Country brand across wholesale and consumer channels.
• Manage seasonal photography and plan photo shoots around wholesale, e-commerce, and brand-building needs and assets.
• Partner closely with Sales to support key retail accounts through marketing programs, promotions, presentations, and sales tools that drive sell-in and sell-through.
• Develop consistent brand messaging, creative direction, and product storytelling across all channels.
• Oversee digital marketing, including paid media, social, influencer, CRM, email, and other growth channels, with a focus on customer acquisition, retention, and engagement.
• Manage the marketing team, calendar, budget, agencies, and outside partners, and lead annual and quarterly planning with clear goals and KPIs.
• Work closely with Sales, Merchandising, Design, and E-commerce to coordinate product launches, seasonal initiatives, and business priorities.
• Track marketing performance and use results and customer insights to improve programs, spending, conversion, engagement, and overall marketing effectiveness.
• Identify and evaluate modern technologies and AI tools that improve marketing effectiveness, personalization, and efficiency.Required Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred.
• 7+ years of marketing experience, preferably in apparel, consumer products, or a wholesale-driven business.
• Experience in both B2B/wholesale and consumer marketing.
• Effective communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels.
• Analytical thinker who is also comfortable being firsthand and executing.
• Strong understanding of digital marketing, analytics, CRM, and current marketing technologies.
• Proficiency in key business and marketing tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, analytics platforms, and CRM systems.
• Must be onsite daily at our New York office.
