Director of Nonprofit Start-up

Nonprofit start-up serving economically disadvantaged people looking for jobs seeks Director. Our focus is finding creative, innovative ways to identify support and getting direct input from this population about what they need. This position is for someone very smart in an academic sense, who understands social problems from practical as well as theoretical frameworks. Who is comfortable interacting with stakeholders at high levels in a fundraising capacity, while at the same time relating to the served population. The overall approach will mix being sophisticated with being very concrete with respect to how things unfold on a daily basis and as we develop in our first and following phases.Requirements· BA/BS from very competitive US college· Minimum 5 years’ experience in philanthropy or operations· MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint; also Canva· High degree of overall tech capacity and the ability to learn new program and applications quickly· Pronounced communications skills (written, verbal)· Capacity to interact effectively with high-end stakeholders and institutions· History of working with UHNWI· Sophistication around power dynamics· Confidence without arrogance· The ability to implement and improve operational systems· Equal comfort giving and taking direction· Best practices around AI· Experience with fundraising and grant writing · An efficient working style and inherent high standards around work quality· Nuanced interpersonal skills· The understanding that everyone matters and that this should be factored in combined with how they handle themselvesResponsibilities· Ongoing coordination with founder and other employees, including Program Director· Team communications: Board, donors, clients· Stakeholder relations· Represent organization’s core mission at the highest level· Identify and develop multiple funding sources· Design and implement effective organization-wide operational systems· Financial tracking· Maintain practices consistent compliance with New York State 501(c)(3) status· Sourcing website designer, oversee website design· Hire, train and supervise staff·4 days/week 10am-6pm$85K/year
