They continue to listen to the Spirit to meet the needs of God’s people in the 21st century.Role Description The Director of Nursing is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Reading, OH, overseeing nursing services for the Sisters’ community and long-term care environment. This position is responsible for supervising nursing staff, coordinating resident care plans, and ensuring high standards of clinical practice and regulatory compliance. Day-to-day responsibilities include evaluating resident health needs, reviewing and implementing nursing policies and procedures, and monitoring infection control practices. The Director of Nursing collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, oversees medication management, and guides staff education and performance improvement initiatives. The role also involves promoting a compassionate, person-centered care culture aligned with the mission and values of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.QualificationsDemonstrated expertise in Nursing Management and leadership within a long-term care or similar setting.Strong clinical background in Nursing and Medicine, with the ability to oversee complex resident care needs.Knowledge of Long-term Care standards, regulations, and best practices for elder care and chronic conditions.Proficiency in Infection Control principles, policies, and staff training to maintain a safe care environment.Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of OhioExperience managing staffing schedules, and conducting performance evaluations.Excellent communication, documentation, and critical-thinking skills, with attention to detail and resident safety.Ability to work collaboratively in a faith-based environment and support the mission and values of the community.Prior experience in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, or similar long-term care settings is highly beneficial.
