Team members join a setting that values personalized care and a welcoming atmosphere.Role Description The Director of Nursing is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in the Greater Minneapolis–St. Paul Area at The Shores of Lake Phalen. This role oversees all nursing services, including care planning, clinical supervision, and coordination of long-term care for residents. The Director of Nursing leads and mentors nursing staff, ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, and maintains high standards for infection control and medication management. Daily responsibilities include assessing resident needs, collaborating with physicians and care teams, monitoring quality metrics, and updating policies and procedures to support safe, person-centered care. The role also involves building strong relationships with residents and families, supporting staff development, and contributing to a positive, collaborative workplace culture.Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in Nursing and Medicine, with the ability to oversee clinical care and support complex health needs.Strong Nursing Management skills, including staff supervision, scheduling, performance evaluation, and team development.Experience in Long-term Care settings, with knowledge of regulations, documentation standards, and resident-centered practices.Expertise in Infection Control, including implementation of protocols, staff training, and monitoring for compliance and safety.Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Minnesota; BSN or advanced nursing degree preferred.Proven ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, communicate clearly with residents and families, and handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic care environment.Previous leadership experience in assisted living, skilled nursing, or similar senior care setting strongly preferred.
