Department: Nursing / Long-Term CareJob SummaryThe Director of Nursing oversees the daily operations of the Nursing Department and ensures high-quality resident care while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee all nursing department operations and clinical programs.Supervise nursing staff, CNAs, staffing, and medical records personnel.Manage staffing levels, schedules, hiring, training, and performance evaluations.Monitor quality indicators, clinical outcomes, and regulatory compliance.Develop and implement corrective action and quality improvement plans.Coordinate resident admissions, discharges, care plans, and changes in condition.Conduct nursing rounds and address resident/family concerns.Collaborate with physicians, Medical Director, residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.Participate in QA meetings, surveys, committees, and care planning.Manage the nursing department budget and supplies.Assume administrative responsibilities in the Administrator’s absence.QualificationsActive RN license in the applicable state.Nursing diploma required; ASN/BSN/MSN preferred.Additional education in geriatric or rehabilitative nursing preferred.Minimum 1 year of long-term care nursing management experience or as required by state regulations.Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and clinical skills.
