Apply & track with Apply EdgeFull-Time | Nursing LeadershipCompetitive Salary | Based on ExperienceJAG Healthcare Orrville is seeking a motivated, experienced, and team-focused Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department and join our facility leadership team.Orrville is a dynamic building with a behavioral health focus, and we are looking for an experienced nursing leader to complement our exceptional leadership team and drive quality care and service for our direct care team.JAG Healthcare Orrville is a 47-bed skilled nursing and long-term care facility providing traditional skilled nursing services as well as care for residents with cognitive deficits and behavioral health needs. Our smaller environment gives our Director of Nursing the opportunity to remain visible, build relationships with residents and employees, and have a direct impact on both clinical quality and team culture.We are looking for a DON who understands that strong nursing leadership is about more than managing schedules and meeting regulations. It's about developing people, creating strong processes, setting clear expectations, supporting your team, and continually looking for ways to improve resident care.Who This Position Is Great ForThis position is ideal for a nurse leader who enjoys building strong teams and creating systems that help employees succeed.We are open to considering candidates with varying levels of nursing leadership experience. Previous Director of Nursing experience is valuable, but an accomplished nurse leader who has relevant long-term care, behavioral health, leadership, process improvement, and team-development experience may also be a strong fit.The right candidate will be a visible and approachable leader who can balance accountability with support, confidently address challenges, and work collaboratively with the Administrator and facility leadership team.ResponsibilitiesInclude but are not limited to:Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate nursing services throughout the facilityProvide leadership, guidance, coaching, and support to nurses and direct care staffRecruit, develop, mentor, and retain a strong nursing teamEstablish clear expectations for clinical quality, accountability, communication, and professionalismPromote a culture of teamwork, resident-centered care, and continuous improvementOversee nursing staffing, scheduling, assignments, and appropriate clinical coverageMonitor resident outcomes and ensure changes in condition are identified, communicated, and appropriately addressedEnsure physician orders, treatments, medications, and individualized care plans are accurately implementedOversee nursing documentation and clinical processes for accuracy, completeness, and complianceCollaborate with physicians, pharmacy, therapy, dietary, social services, activities, and other members of the interdisciplinary teamMaintain positive communication and relationships with residents and familiesOversee nursing policies, procedures, clinical systems, and standards of practiceEnsure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations and standardsLead and participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiativesIdentify trends and opportunities for improvement and develop processes to strengthen resident outcomes and nursing operationsMaintain ongoing survey readiness and assist with plans of correction and follow-up when necessaryInvestigate and respond appropriately to clinical concerns, incidents, complaints, and grievancesPromote resident rights, dignity, privacy, safety, and individual preferencesOversee nursing education, competencies, orientation, and ongoing staff developmentCollaborate with Human Resources and facility leadership regarding employee performance, attendance, accountability, and retentionSupport admissions and census development by helping ensure the facility is clinically prepared to meet resident needsBuild and maintain positive relationships with hospitals, physicians, referral partners, families, and the surrounding communityServe as an active member of the facility leadership team and help drive the overall success of JAG Healthcare OrrvilleSkills & QualificationsCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio in good standingPrevious Director of Nursing experience preferred, but not required for candidates with strong relevant nursing leadership experienceSkilled nursing, long-term care, or related clinical experience strongly preferredBehavioral health, cognitive care, or similar resident-care experience preferredStrong understanding of long-term care regulations, clinical standards, and resident care requirementsKnowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, CMS requirements, reimbursement, and quality measures preferredExperience with QAPI, quality improvement, and survey readinessStrong leadership, coaching, and team-development skillsAbility to establish effective processes and promote accountability throughout the nursing departmentStrong clinical judgment and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skillsAbility to collaborate effectively with the Administrator and interdisciplinary leadership teamAbility to build positive relationships with employees, residents, families, physicians, and community partnersInfection Preventionist training preferred, or willingness to obtain as neededDependable, professional, and committed to continuous improvement and quality resident careWhy Join JAG Healthcare Orrville?Small, 47-bed facility where leadership can make a visible impactDynamic resident population and unique behavioral health care modelEstablished leadership team looking for a strong clinical partnerOpportunity to develop and strengthen the nursing teamAbility to directly influence clinical quality, processes, and resident outcomesHands-on, relationship-focused leadership environmentNo Agency StaffStaff Longevity & Strong Team CultureOpportunities for continued professional and leadership growthRoom to make the nursing department your own while having the support of an experienced leadership teamAt JAG Healthcare, we are dedicated to creating a lifetime of balance for our residents, our employees, and the communities we serve.
