From $93,000.00 per yearJob description:The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and supervision of nursing services within the facility. This position provides leadership to the nursing team, establishes and maintains clinical standards, monitors quality outcomes, and ensures compliance with applicable federal and Pennsylvania requirements governing skilled nursing facilities.The ideal candidate is a strong clinical leader who combines sound nursing judgment with excellent communication, organization, accountability, and a genuine commitment to serving residents and their families.Essential ResponsibilitiesProvide overall leadership and direction for the facility's nursing department.Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies, procedures, standards of care, and clinical programs.Ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, individualized, and evidence-based care.Supervise, coach, and develop nursing leadership and staff, including Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Certified Nursing Assistants.Participate in recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, performance evaluation, disciplinary processes, and retention initiatives for nursing personnel.Monitor staffing levels and scheduling to support resident needs and regulatory requirements.Promote a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, accountability, communication, and resident-centered care.Monitor clinical quality indicators and lead initiatives to improve outcomes.Oversee infection prevention and control practices in collaboration with the facility's Infection Preventionist and interdisciplinary team.Ensure timely completion and accuracy of clinical documentation and required assessments.Participate in the facility's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.Prepare for and participate in federal, state, and other regulatory surveys and inspections.Develop and implement corrective action plans when necessary and monitor sustained compliance.Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, rehabilitation staff, social services, dietary services, administration, residents, and families.Respond appropriately to resident and family concerns and promote effective communication and service recovery.Monitor medication management, wound care, falls prevention, risk management, and other key clinical programs.Ensure appropriate investigation, documentation, and reporting of incidents and allegations of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or other reportable events.Maintain current knowledge of federal and Pennsylvania skilled nursing regulations and professional standards.Participate in leadership meetings, committees, care conferences, and other organizational initiatives.Serve as a visible clinical leader and role model for the nursing department.Perform other duties consistent with the position and organizational mission.Our Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate will be a compassionate, accountable, and visible nursing leader who understands that exceptional clinical care begins with a supported and engaged nursing team.The ideal candidate is comfortable balancing day-to-day clinical priorities with long-term quality initiatives, regulatory responsibilities, staffing needs, and the needs of residents and their families.We are looking for a leader who is present, organized, and committed to developing a strong nursing team while maintaining high standards of resident care and regulatory compliance.
