Job Description:The Head of Risk Operations is a senior leadership role within Walmart’s Marketplace business responsible for leading the execution and results against risk strategies, plans, and policies. This role reports up to the Vice President of Seller Performance and Support partnering closely with the functions responsible for acquiring, lifecycle managing, and optimizing Seller growth and success. This individual plays a critical role in ensuring buyers and sellers transact in an environment that is managed, safe and fair thereby enabling efficient and quality assortment and experiences. This leader will also be accountable for leading a large team comprised of in-house and outsourced partner resources capable of achieving quality results while scaling.Responsibilities:Risk Operations Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive risk operations strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives. This strategy needs to be tightly connected to that of the Risk Business, Product and Technology, and Data Science.Risk Operations Leadership: Build an organization with robust tools, processes, and controls that can deliver the highest quality of work in a highly complex business across many types of queued work in both proactive and reactive, referral cases. Ability to create depth of policy knowledge and consistency for how to apply and action it to produce the best outcomes at scale.Customer and Industry Specific Acumen: Ability to understand dynamic risk trends and be able to connect the patterns between business-as-usual work and changing conditions that must be detected, analyzed, and evaluated for change.Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of risk operations professionals. Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment, promoting professional growth and development within the team.Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate risk-related information, analyses, and recommendations to senior management, executives, and relevant stakeholders. Present complex concepts in a clear and concise manner to facilitate understanding and support closed loop feedback systems including Compliance and Audit.Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance risk operations processes, methodologies, and tools. Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in risk operations, implementing relevant advancements to drive efficiency and effectiveness.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree with preference for business, finance related course of study. Advanced certifications or programs of study in risk is highly desirable.Extensive experience (15+ years) in risk and customer service-related positions with a track record of driving successful outcomes.Extensive experience (15+ years) in eCommerce, Financial Services, and online Marketplaces is highly desirable. This includes experience both building in a high growth environment as well as successfully executing in a multi-billion dollar globally scaled enterprise.In-depth knowledge of risk management frameworks, methodologies, products and technologies, and best practices.Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.Excellent leadership and people management abilities, with a proven ability to lead and motivate teams.Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Walmart, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer By Choice.
