Director of OperationsAbout the RoleThe Director of Operations will lead the full lifecycle delivery of large-scale advanced technology and infrastructure construction programs across an assigned portfolio. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this position will oversee project delivery, client relationships, contract administration, financial performance, and the development of high-performing project teams across multiple concurrent projects.The Director of Operations will serve as the primary operational leader between executive leadership and the project management organization, with accountability for safety, quality, schedule, cost, and overall project performance.Key ResponsibilitiesProgram & Project Management LeadershipLead an assigned project management organization consisting of Project Executives, Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Preconstruction, Cost, Scheduling, and Contracts professionals.Provide oversight of project delivery, escalation processes, and reporting standards across safety, quality, execution, and financial performance.Develop and maintain portfolio-level tracking for schedule, cost, risk, and resource utilization across multi-site construction programs.Establish and drive project execution strategies, including contract structures, change management, cost tracking, and preconstruction scope development.Monitor project performance and proactively identify risks, challenges, and opportunities across the assigned portfolio.Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contractual requirements and client expectations.Financial & Contract ManagementOversee contract administration for major construction agreements, including GMP, firm-price, and cost-plus structures.Lead the review and negotiation of contract amendments, change orders, and other contractual modifications.Develop and manage detailed cost models, rate structures, and labor and equipment escalation for the assigned regional portfolio.Oversee financial reporting, customer billing documentation, and program-level cost analysis for executive and client review.Lead the resolution of change orders, claims, scope gaps, and other contractual issues across the project portfolio.Maintain strong financial controls and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.Client Relationship ManagementServe as the primary executive point of contact for key client accounts within the assigned portfolio.Maintain alignment with clients regarding project scope, schedule, cost, performance, and strategic objectives.Lead executive-level client communications, including program status updates, billing reviews, issue escalation, and resolution.Build and maintain long-term client relationships through consistent communication, accountability, and successful project execution.Partner with clients to develop contractual frameworks that support long-term program delivery and mutually beneficial business outcomes.People & Organizational LeadershipLead, mentor, develop, and grow teams of Project Executives, Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and project support personnel.Own hiring, performance management, talent development, and organizational planning for assigned teams.Establish structured onboarding, interviewing, and staffing processes to support continued organizational growth.Build a culture centered around accountability, operational discipline, safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Identify and develop future leaders within the organization.QualificationsExperience & EducationBachelor's degree in Business, Construction Science, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field;
