The hospital is an acute-care, not-for-profit teaching hospital affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine that provides state-of-the-art advanced cardiac care as well as emergency services, oncology, orthopedics, neurology and more.As our Director of Pharmacy, you will provide leadership and operational oversight for pharmacy services and be responsible for translating organizational strategy into effective pharmacy operations. You will lead implementation of enterprise initiatives and ensure operational performance, regulatory compliance, medication safety, financial stewardship, and effective management of pharmacy services. Specifically, you will:Lead enterprise pharmacy initiatives and oversee daily operations, priorities, performance standards, and escalation of significant issuesEnsure regulatory/accreditation compliance (TJC, NYSDOH, CMS, DEA, USP), survey readiness, and policy/standards developmentOversee high-risk processes (diversion, sterile compounding, medication security) and drive corrective actions from safety/quality findingsManage pharmacy budgets, expenses, labor, and productivity; identify cost-saving opportunities and develop business cases/capital requestsLead pharmacy automation and technology initiatives, and establish performance metrics to drive improvementLead pharmacy managers and staff, overseeing workforce planning, recruitment, development, and labor/employee relations with HRLead procurement, inventory, and drug shortage strategy, and ensure emergency preparedness and business continuityLead governance committees, operationalize decisions, and represent pharmacy across organizational departmentsSupport pharmacy education, residency programs, and precepting/mentorshipWe require:Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or BS Pharmacy and active pharmacist license in good standing.Minimum of 3 years of progressive pharmacy leadership experience, including experience at the Assistant Director, Associate Director, or higher level, or an equivalent role with comparable operational and leadership responsibilitiesAdvanced degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field (e.g., MHA, MBA) preferred.Progressive pharmacy leadership experience with responsibility for complex operations or multiple service areas.Demonstrated experience implementing large-scale enterprise and departmental initiatives.Experience leading regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, quality, and medication-safety activities.Experience implementing and optimizing pharmacy automation and medication-use technologies.Proficiency in budgeting, financial management, data analysis, project management, and performance improvement.Experience managing pharmacy leaders, workforce planning, and employee performance.Strong communication, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary leadership skills.Great benefits including medical, dental, and life insurance, generous tuition reimbursement, 403b, vacation and sick days, and much more!
