Employment Type: Full-timeIndustry: Construction & Contracting / ServicesAbout the RoleA leading and well-established organization is seeking an experienced Procurement Director to lead its procurement function across multiple business units within the contracting and services sector.The role will provide strategic and operational leadership across sourcing, procurement planning, subcontracting, supplier management and procurement governance, with a strong focus on achieving optimal value, cost efficiency, service quality and supply chain performance.Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement policies, processes and governance frameworks across multiple business units.
• Lead the development and execution of the overall procurement strategy, including strategic sourcing and innovative procurement initiatives.
• Manage procurement budgets and ensure cost-effective and efficient procurement operations.
• Analyze market trends, supply markets, costs and procurement best practices to identify opportunities, manage risks and improve procurement performance.
• Partner with BU Heads and senior stakeholders to understand business requirements, resolve complex procurement issues and deliver cost, quality and service objectives.
• Identify and manage commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational, ethical and supply chain risks.
• Lead major supplier and subcontractor negotiations in coordination with internal stakeholders, Legal and other support functions.
• Establish procurement performance standards, KPIs and reporting mechanisms.
• Lead, develop and manage the procurement team, including performance management, capability development and training.
• Establish and manage effective SLAs with business units and projects, with emphasis on cost control and delivery requirements.
• Develop strategic relationships with major manufacturers, principals, specialist subcontractors and key suppliers.
• Develop and manage vendor management programs and promote strong supplier partnerships.
• Drive global sourcing and effective use of e-procurement solutions.
• Establish appropriate risk transfer strategies with major suppliers and subcontractors based on contractual and project requirements.
• Work closely with BU Heads, Operations and Warehouse teams to establish appropriate inventory levels and controls.The ideal candidate should have:
• 12+ years of procurement experience within the construction and contracting industry.
• Proven experience managing procurement across multiple business units within a large organization.
• At least 6 years in a managerial or director-level procurement role.
• Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related discipline.
• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is highly desirable.
• Strong experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier development and vendor management.
• Proven experience working with major suppliers, manufacturers and specialist subcontractors.
• Strong commercial, analytical, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership capability with experience building and developing high-performing procurement teams.
• Strong understanding of procurement governance, compliance, risk management and performance management.
