Director of Procurement - Data Center Delivery

Procurement DirectorYou will lead procurement execution for data center projects and operational requirements, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of procurement activities.As a regional procurement leader, you will partner closely with the Global Procurement Platform to implement regional procurement strategies, drive sourcing excellence, manage supplier performance, identify and mitigate supply chain risks, and proactively resolve project procurement issues that may impact project schedules, cost, or quality.You will work closely with Project, Engineering, Operations, Legal, Finance, and external suppliers to support successful project delivery and achieve the business's objectives.Your ResponsibilitiesLead the execution of procurement strategies, category plans, and sourcing initiatives developed by the Global Procurement Platform, ensuring alignment with regional business and project objectives.Support the timely delivery of data center projects by managing procurement activities, attending project meetings, tracking procurement milestones, and resolving procurement and vendor-related issues that may impact project schedules.Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate procurement, supply chain, commercial, and vendor risks; anticipate potential disruptions and implement mitigation plans to ensure continuity of supply.Lead, develop, and mentor procurement team members to build organizational capability, succession strength, and a high-performance culture.Drive sourcing decisions through cross-functional collaboration, market benchmarking, spend analysis, and stakeholder engagement.Manage end-to-end sourcing, RFx, tendering, bid evaluation, commercial analysis, contract negotiation, and award processes to achieve best-value outcomes.Manage supplier relationships and performance to drive quality, delivery reliability, innovation, value engineering opportunities, and continuous improvement.Identify and implement cost optimization and savings opportunities across procurement categories without compromising quality, delivery, or operational objectives.Negotiate and administer commercial agreements, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with agreed milestones, deliverables, and performance standards.Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Engineering, Operations, and Project teams to ensure contract compliance, governance adherence, and effective commercial management.Provide procurement and commercial expertise for construction contracts, including FIDIC, GMP, Lump Sum, and other project delivery models.Manage procurement activities across construction packages, MEP equipment, fit-out works, consultancy services, operational requirements (MRO), maintenance contracts, and shared services.Conduct supplier qualification, vendor evaluation, supplier performance reviews, and supplier development initiatives.Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, Delegation of Authority (DOA), contractual obligations, and governance requirements.Review and validate commercial terms, pricing structures, claims, variations, and contractual documentation.Prepare procurement recommendations, commercial summaries, approval papers, and business cases for management review and approval.Develop, maintain, and analyze procurement dashboards, spend reports, savings reports, supplier performance metrics, risk registers, and management reports to support decision- making.Monitor budgets, commitments, purchase orders, open requisitions, project spend, and procurement KPIs to ensure effective procurement governance and financial control.Act as a key regional procurement business partner, fostering strong stakeholder relationships and supporting business growth initiatives.Ensure procurement objectives relating to cost, quality, schedule, compliance, supplier performance, and customer satisfaction are consistently achieved.What we are looking for:Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related discipline.Minimum 15 years of procurement experience, with significant exposure to project procurement and construction procurement environments.Strong experience within the Data Center, Mission Critical, Construction, Infrastructure, or Industrial project sectors.Engineering background preferred.Proven experience supporting large-scale CAPEX projects and managing complex procurement packages.Strong knowledge of construction and commercial contract models, including FIDIC, GMP, Lump Sum, EPC, and related frameworks.Demonstrated experience in RFx management, tendering, commercial evaluations, negotiations, contract awards, andsupplier relationship management.Experience managing regional suppliers, contractors, consultants, and strategic vendor relationships.Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance cost, risk, schedule, and quality considerations.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior management and cross-functional teams.Strong analytical, reporting, forecasting, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.Proven ability to identify risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and successfully resolve project procurement challenges.Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, or equivalent procurement platforms.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data analytics/reporting tools.Familiarity with regional construction, infrastructure, and data center supply markets.Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural, and matrix organization.Strong leadership presence, accountability, and a results-driven mindset.Fluency in English. Additional regional language capabilities (Malay and/or Mandarin) will be advantageous.
