Director of Public Policy, UAE/Middle East

Role Description The Director of Public Policy, UAE/Middle East is a part-time, remote role responsible for shaping and guiding the organization’s public policy strategy across the region. This role involves monitoring relevant legislation and regulatory developments affecting technology, digital skills, and workforce development, and providing timely analysis and recommendations. The director will build and maintain relationships with government agencies, policy makers, and industry associations, representing US Trailhead Titans Hub in discussions, consultations, and public forums. Daily responsibilities include drafting policy briefs, position papers, and advocacy materials; coordinating lobbying and governmental affairs efforts; and collaborating with internal teams to ensure alignment between policy priorities and the platform’s services. The role also requires advising leadership on regional opportunities and risks, and helping to develop thought leadership content that reflects the organization’s policy stance.QualificationsDemonstrated expertise in governmental affairs and government relations, particularly within the UAE and broader Middle East region.Experience in lobbying and legislative relations, including engaging with lawmakers, regulators, and public agencies.Strong understanding of legislation and regulatory processes, with the ability to interpret and communicate policy impacts clearly.Proven ability to develop and execute public policy strategies aligned with organizational goals.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.Track record of building partnerships with government bodies, industry groups, and civil society organizations.Strategic thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote, part-time capacity.Relevant academic background in public policy, law, international relations, political science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.Familiarity with technology, digital skills, or workforce development ecosystems is highly beneficial.
