Each job starts with a rapid, accurate quote and a written confirmation that locks scope, cost, and delivery, setting clear expectations from the outset.Precision Waterjet & LaserThe RoleWe're looking for a Director of Procurement to own the supply chain strategy for a precision machining manufacturer serving aerospace and defense customers. This is a hands-on leadership role — you'll be negotiating long-term agreements with raw material suppliers, managing risk in a tight metals market, and building out a procurement function that can scale with growth and support AS9100/ITAR compliance requirements.What You'll DoOwn end-to-end procurement strategy for raw materials (titanium, aluminum, nickel alloys, steel), outside processing (heat treat, plating, NDT), tooling, and MRONegotiate and manage Long-Term Agreements (LTAs) with strategic suppliers to secure pricing and supply continuity in volatile metals marketsLead supplier qualification, approval, and performance management in accordance with AS9100 and customer flow-down requirements (NADCAP, ITAR/EAR where applicable)Manage supplier risk across single-source and sole-source relationships common in A&D supply chainsPartner with Engineering and Quality on new part introduction, source selection, and make/buy decisionsDrive cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or delivery in a highly regulated environmentBuild and mentor a team of buyers/planners; establish procurement processes, KPIs, and reportingManage inventory strategy across raw, WIP, and finished goods to support on-time delivery targetsCollaborate with Finance on cost forecasting, budget variance, and supplier payment termsEnsure compliance with DFARS, ITAR, and other government contracting requirements as applicableWhat You Bring8+ years in procurement/supply chain, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership roleExperience in aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated precision manufacturing environment (medical device, semi-cap also relevant)Direct experience negotiating LTAs and managing metals/raw material supply chainsWorking knowledge of AS9100, ITAR/EAR, and DFARS compliance requirementsExperience with ERP systems (Epicor, IQMS/DELMIAworks, Global Shop, or similar)Strong negotiation skills and comfort managing supplier relationships in a constrained supply environmentBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience); CPSM/CPM a plusCompetitive compensation package, starting at $140,000.
