EMG’s mission centers on building long-term relationships based on trust, partnership, and reliable service.Role Description The Director of Purchasing is a full-time, on-site role based in Green Bay, WI, responsible for leading EMG’s purchasing and procurement function to support efficient, cost-effective supply chain operations. This role oversees purchasing processes from vendor selection through contract negotiation, ensuring optimal terms, quality, and delivery performance. The Director of Purchasing will develop and implement purchasing strategies, manage purchasing policies and procedures, and monitor departmental KPIs and budget performance. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with internal stakeholders to forecast demand, optimizing inventory levels, resolving supplier issues, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. This position also provides leadership and mentorship to the purchasing team, ensuring alignment with EMG’s mission and service standards.Qualifications Strong expertise in purchasing processes and purchase management, with demonstrated ability to design, implement, and refine standardized workflows.Proven experience in purchasing and procurement, including supplier selection, evaluation, and ongoing relationship management.Advanced contract negotiation skills, with a track record of securing favorable terms, managing risk, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.Background in supply chain, logistics, or distribution environments, with solid understanding of inventory planning and cost optimization.Leadership experience managing purchasing or procurement teams, including coaching, performance management, and cross-functional collaboration.Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with proficiency in using ERP or purchasing systems and working with data to drive improvements.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field; advanced certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) are a plus.
