Director of Sales | Munich, GermanyWe are currently looking for a Director of Sales to take ownership of the commercial opportunity across Germany and, over time, wider Europe for a VC-backed thermal energy storage company on a mission to decarbonize heavy industry. The technology stores renewable and off-peak electricity as high-temperature heat and delivers it back to industrial processes that currently rely on fossil fuels, including distilleries, paper mills, cement, aggregate, and glass. It's already been proven in the field, producing low carbon output for a real industrial customer, and the company is now scaling fast, doubling headcount this year and opening a new German base in Munich. This is not a role for someone who wants a fully built sales machine to walk into. You'll be building out the commercial function in Germany, bringing structure, pipeline and process to a business at a really exciting stage. What you'll own:Building and running the full sales pipeline across Germany and wider Europe, from first outreach to signed contractIdentifying and prioritizing target accounts in high-heat, energy-intensive industries based on decarbonization pressure and technical fitTranslating complex engineering concepts into commercial propositions industrial buyers actually trustStanding up the tools, process, and reporting a long-cycle industrial sale needs, ICP, CRM, pipeline reporting, sales collateral, largely from scratchHiring and coaching a team underneath you as the business scalesFeeding customer and market intelligence directly into product roadmap and investor reporting, you'll have a seat at the leadership tableWhat we're looking for:8+ years in B2B sales, with 3-5+ years in a senior or leadership sales roleDirect experience selling into heavy industry, including cement, steel, glass, chemicals, food & beverage, paper/pulp, or similarly energy-intensive manufacturingA track record selling capital equipment or infrastructure with long sales cycles (12+ months) and multiple stakeholders, technical, financial, operationalComfort operating without a mature sales infrastructure already in place, and a genuine appetite for building oneFluent German and EnglishBased in or willing to relocate to Munich, with extensive travel across Germany and EuropePrior experience at an early-stage or scale-up company (ideally hardware, energy, or deep tech) is a strong plus, you'll need to move at startup speed and make good judgment calls in a market where hype and real buying intent can be hard to tell apartWhy join now: This is a rare stage to join at, the technology is proven enough to sell, immature enough that you'll shape how it's sold, and the company is small enough that your impact on the business, the team, and the outcome for investors will be direct and visible. If you want the autonomy of running your own patch and the mandate to build a team, this is that role.Sound like you?
