We are a custom protein manufacturer with capabilities extending well beyond traditional deli meats. We partner with foodservice operators, restaurant chains, retailers, and private-label customers to develop and manufacture customized, value-added protein solutions. Our capabilities include deli meats, cooked and ready-to-eat proteins, portion-controlled products, sliced and diced products, and other customized meat and protein applications.As we enter our next stage of growth, we are seeking an accomplished Director of Sales to develop our commercial strategy, strengthen our customer relationships, and build a more disciplined and scalable sales organization.This is a hands-on leadership opportunity—not a position focused solely on managing from behind a desk. The Director of Sales will lead three Sales Representatives, oversee our independent broker network, maintain direct relationships with key customers, and personally help develop and win new business.The right candidate will combine the strategic capabilities of a senior sales leader with the drive and willingness to execute.WHAT YOU’LL DODevelop and Execute the Sales StrategyDevelop and lead a sales strategy that delivers profitable, sustainable growth.Identify opportunities across new customers, markets, channels, and product categories.Create strategic growth plans for existing key accounts.Build a disciplined process for prospecting, qualifying opportunities, and winning new business.Maintain executive-level relationships with major customers and strategic partners.Bring customer needs, competitive intelligence, and market opportunities back into the organization.Lead and Develop the Sales TeamLead, coach, and develop a team of three Sales Representatives.Establish clear territories, goals, expectations, and accountability.Conduct regular sales, pipeline, account, and performance reviews.Set meaningful sales KPIs and use them to improve individual and team performance.Work alongside Sales Representatives during customer meetings, account development, and new-business activity.Help determine the future structure and talent needs of the sales organization.Strengthen the Broker NetworkEvaluate broker coverage, capabilities, and performance.Establish clear territories, priorities, goals, and performance expectations.Conduct regular broker business reviews and hold partners accountable for results.Identify geographic, channel, and market-coverage gaps.Improve broker productivity, new-account penetration, and product focus.Recommend broker changes when performance or market coverage does not meet the company’s needs.Improve Pricing and Commercial DisciplinePartner with Finance and company leadership on pricing and margin strategy.Analyze profitability by customer, product, channel, and market.Balance competitive pricing with sustainable margin improvement.Strengthen controls around pricing, discounts, rebates, and promotional programs.Improve sales forecasting to support production, purchasing, inventory, and capacity planning.Use data to determine where sales resources and investments will generate the greatest return.Build a Scalable Sales InfrastructureEstablish consistent processes for prospecting, pipeline management, forecasting, and account development.Champion effective CRM utilization across the sales organization.Improve visibility into sales activity, customer opportunities, and pipeline health.Develop practical dashboards and KPIs covering revenue, margin, pipeline, conversion, customer retention, new accounts, and broker productivity.Partner with Marketing on customer acquisition, product launches, trade shows, sales materials, and market-development initiatives.WORK ACROSS THE BUSINESSThe Director of Sales will work closely with Operations, Production, Planning, Finance, Procurement, Quality, Technical Services, Research and Development, and Marketing.This collaboration is essential to ensure that customer commitments, new products, pricing decisions, and growth opportunities align with our manufacturing capabilities, capacity, food-safety standards, and profitability objectives.WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FORRequired QualificationsProgressive sales and business-development experience with demonstrated leadership responsibility.Sales experience within food manufacturing, foodservice, consumer packaged goods, private label, protein processing, or a closely related industry.A demonstrated record of profitable revenue growth and new-business development.Experience leading, coaching, and holding sales professionals accountable.Strong key-account management and executive customer-relationship skills.Working knowledge of pricing strategy, margin management, forecasting, and sales analytics.Experience using CRM systems to manage pipelines and improve sales accountability.Strong commercial judgment, financial awareness, and negotiation skills.Ability to collaborate effectively in a manufacturing environment.Willingness to remain directly involved with customers, prospects, brokers, and the sales team.Preferred QualificationsExperience within meat, protein, deli, prepared foods, or refrigerated food manufacturing.Experience with branded and private-label products.Experience managing independent brokers or distributor relationships.Experience improving or implementing sales processes, CRM practices, and performance dashboards.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related
