Apply & track with Apply EdgeThis position is based in Rochester, NYPosition SummaryThe Director of Supply Chain & Logistics is responsible for leading the day-to-day and strategic supply chain operations of One Frozen, including international logistics, inventory planning, supplier performance, customer fulfillment, and multi-site supply chain coordination.This position partners closely with Sales, Finance, Quality Assurance, suppliers, logistics partners, and Leadership to ensure product availability, OTIF fulfillment, efficient inventory management, and cost-effective logistics operations.The ideal candidate is a hands-on and collaborative leader with strong international logistics and supply chain experience within the food or frozen food industry. This individual should have the ability to balance operational priorities with inventory levels, customer requirements, supplier lead times, and financial considerations while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations, Supply Chain & LogisticsLead and oversee the daily operations of the Supply Chain and Logistics function, both domestic and international.Own the logistics functions, including ocean freight, container shipments, port operations, customs clearance, and inbound transportation.Coordinate supply chain activities across multiple manufacturing sites, warehouses, customers, and logistics partners for the Retail, Industrial and Foodservice channels.Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, warehouses, and other third-party logistics providers.Monitor freight costs, transit times, container utilization, service levels, and overall logistics performance while Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen service levels. Proactively evaluate supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions.Inventory & PlanningAssess inventory planning and forecasting to support customer demand and business objectives.Partner with Sales, Master Data and other departments to incorporate forecasts, seasonality, promotions, customer demand, and supply constraints into inventory planning.Monitor inventory levels, product rotation, fill rates, aging inventory, and product availability.Identify slow-moving, excess, and aging inventory and develop action plans with appropriate teams.Maintain inventory visibility and planning processes across the organization.Proactively identify potential inventory shortages and develop solutions to minimize customer impact.Vendor Management & Customer FulfillmentEstablish, monitor, and evaluate supplier performance using established KPIs and scorecards.Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, service, reliability, lead times, cost per kilogram, and other key metrics.Partner with Quality Assurance to monitor supplier food safety performance and perform corrective actions when needed.Monitor customer fulfillment performance, including On-Time In-Full (OTIF), fill rates, order accuracy, and service levels.Ensure compliance with customer and retailer requirements, including EDI, scorecards, routing requirements, promotions, and chargeback expectations.Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, logistical service providers, internal stakeholders, and other business partners.Financial ManagementMonitor the financial impact of supply chain and logistics activities on the P&L and EBITDA.Analyze freight economics, landed costs, gross margin drivers, inventory carrying costs, and other supply chain expenses.Mitigate the repercussion of inventory and purchasing decisions on working capital and cash flow.Support budgeting and forecasting related to logistics, inventory, warehousing, and other supply chain expenses.Provide operational trends and insights to the Sales team to support business decision-making.Leadership & Team DevelopmentLead, coach, and develop the members of the Supply Chain and Logistics team.Establish clear performance expectations, responsibilities, and measurable objectives.Promote accountability, collaboration, proactive communication, and continuous improvement.Optimize processes and responsibilities to support efficient cross-department day-to-day operations.Cross-Functional PartnershipPartner with Sales, Finance, Customer Management, Quality Assurance, and Leadership to support business initiatives.Serve as a key connection between customer requirements, commercial priorities, inventory availability, and supplier’s capabilities.Communicate supply chain risks, challenges, and recommendations proactively to Leadership.Support new customers, products, and promotional initiatives from a supply chain and operational perspective.Provide a quarterly report to the Leadership team with the status overview of the Supply Chain departmentFood Safety & ComplianceMaintain working knowledge of applicable food safety, regulatory, import, customs, and cold chain requirements.Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure appropriate product handling, storage, transportation, and supplier compliance.Support product traceability, inventory rotation, documentation, and other applicable compliance requirements.Assist with corrective actions related to supplier, transportation, warehouse, or product quality concerns.Process ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve supply chain processes, inventory management, reporting, and operational efficiency.Develop, monitor and present meaningful KPIs and dashboards to measure supply chain performance.Support ERP system enhancements, automation, and improved data visibility.Recommend improvements that support scalability and the continued growth of One Frozen.QualificationsBA/BS in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Business, or related field required.Minimum of 10 years of progressive supply chain, logistics, operations, or inventory planning experience.Previous leadership or supervisory experience required.Experience within the food, frozen food, food import/distribution, CPG, or related industry required. Familiarity with the retailer’s distribution system and retail scorecards strongly preferred.Strong international logistics experience, including ocean freight, container shipments, port operations, customs clearance, and freight forwarding.Deep knowledge of inventory planning, forecasting, seasonality, product rotation, fill rates, and aging inventory.Experience managing suppliers, warehouses, carriers, freight forwarders, and other third-party partners.Knowledge of OTIF, EDI, and vendor compliance requirements. Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP); SAP a plusGood financial acumen with an understanding of gross margin, freight economics, landed cost, EBITDA, and working capital.Tested analytical, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, growing environment.Working ConditionsHybrid office environment based in Rochester, NY.Standard business hours with additional time required based on operational and business needs.Frequent interaction with suppliers, logistics partners, cross-functional teams, and senior leadership.Occasional travel may be required to warehouses, suppliers, ports, company locations, customer meetings, or industry events.Physical DemandsProlonged periods of sitting and computer work.Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.Ability to travel occasionally for meetings, site visits, training, or company events as needed.Compensation - Remuneration package commensurate with qualifications and experience.
