Initially, you will be the primary Talent Acquisition owner, taking hiring requirements from intake through sourcing, screening, interviews, coordination, offers, closing, and onboarding handoff. There will not be a recruiting team supporting you initially, so you will personally drive recruiting execution while establishing the processes, systems, standards, and infrastructure needed to scale.You'll have significant ownership from day one. There is no established recruiting playbook to simply inherit — you'll create it.The ideal candidate understands both strategy and execution: someone who can build a scalable recruiting process, manage multiple searches, establish meaningful KPIs, and deliver a strong candidate experience while laying the foundation for a future Talent Acquisition team.As Smart Shore Group grows, this role may evolve into a broader team-leadership position, with responsibility for hiring, developing, and managing additional recruiters. Previous leadership or team-management experience is therefore important.This role will work closely with leadership, hiring managers, and Operations to understand hiring needs, improve time-to-hire and quality of hire, and build a Talent Acquisition function capable of supporting Smart Shore Group's growth.What You'll DoBuild the Talent Acquisition FunctionDesign and implement Smart Shore Group's Talent Acquisition strategy and recruiting processes from the ground upBuild and continuously improve the recruiting playbook, including requisition intake, sourcing, screening, interviewing, candidate evaluation, offers, closing, and onboardingEstablish standardized workflows, interview structures, scorecards, evaluation standards, templates, and recruiting guidelinesDefine and implement recruiting KPIs, including time-to-fill, time-to-hire, source effectiveness, interview-to-hire ratio, offer acceptance rate, and quality of hireEstablish scalable recruiting infrastructure, including ATS workflows, candidate pipelines, sourcing channels, templates, and reportingContinuously improve recruiting efficiency, candidate quality, hiring-manager experience, and candidate experienceOwn the Full Recruitment LifecyclePersonally own the recruitment process from intake → sourcing → screening → interviews → coordination → offers → closing → onboarding handoffConduct intake meetings with hiring managers to understand role requirements, success profile, urgency, compensation, and hiring expectationsDevelop sourcing strategies and target candidate profiles for each positionSource candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, talent communities, direct outreach, and other channelsReview applications and proactively identify qualified candidatesConduct initial screenings and assess technical, functional, communication, cultural, and role-specific fitCoordinate interviews and ensure the process moves efficientlyManage candidate communication throughout the recruitment processPrepare and extend offers and actively manage the closing processMaintain candidate engagement throughout the offer stage and proactively address concerns that could affect acceptanceCoordinate the transition from accepted candidate to onboarding and ensure relevant information is properly handed off to Operations and other stakeholdersMaintain accurate candidate pipelines and recruitment recordsPersonally manage high-priority, specialized, difficult-to-fill, or leadership searches when requiredRecruiting Strategy & ExecutionPartner with leadership and hiring managers to understand current and future hiring requirementsTranslate business needs into recruiting strategies and hiring plansDetermine the appropriate sourcing mix and recruiting approach for each positionMaintain talent pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill positionsAnalyze recruiting data to identify bottlenecks and improve conversion ratesEvaluate sourcing channels and adjust strategies based on resultsDevelop proactive talent pipelines rather than relying exclusively on active applicantsHiring Manager PartnershipAct as the primary Talent Acquisition partner for hiring managers and leadershipEstablish clear expectations around hiring timelines, candidate profiles, interview processes, and decision-makingChallenge unrealistic requirements or inefficient hiring practices when necessaryProvide regular updates on recruiting pipelines, candidate availability, market conditions, and hiring risksTrain and support hiring managers on interviewing, candidate evaluation, and selection best practicesEnsure hiring decisions are based on consistent, objective, and job-relevant criteriaGather hiring-manager feedback and use it to improve recruiting outcomesBuild Toward a Talent Acquisition TeamEstablish processes, standards, documentation, and infrastructure for future recruitersDefine successful recruiting execution before expanding the teamDocument recruiting workflows and best practices for future team membersUse recruiting volume, business growth, and operational needs to determine when additional Talent Acquisition resources are requiredParticipate in hiring, onboarding, coaching, and development of additional recruiting team members as the function growsEventually provide leadership, direction, coaching, and performance management for the Talent and future Talent Acquisition staffing needsRegularly review and improve the Talent Acquisition process as Smart Shore Group scalesWhat We're Looking ForRequired4+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition, Recruiting, Recruitment Operations, or a related fieldPrevious experience leading, supervising, mentoring, or managing recruiting professionals or teamsProven experience designing and implementing recruiting processes from the ground upStrong hands-on experience owning the full recruitment lifecycle from intake through onboarding handoffStrong experience with sourcing, screening, interviewing, candidate coordination, offer management, and candidate closingExperience recruiting for multiple roles simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentStrong understanding of recruiting funnels, KPIs, and performance metricsExperience using ATS platforms, LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, and other recruiting technologiesStrong knowledge of structured interviewing and candidate
