As an AVIXA APEx Certified member and NSCA participant, Visual Sound offers team members the chance to work on impactful projects that shape the future of multiple industries.Role Description The Director of Technical Operations is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Philadelphia area. This role oversees daily technical operations for audiovisual installations and services, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards. Responsibilities include leading technical teams, managing resource allocation, coordinating cross-functional program activities, and establishing best practices for service delivery and support. The Director will supervise technical support and troubleshooting processes, optimize workflows, maintain documentation and compliance standards, and drive continuous improvement across operations. This position partners closely with sales, engineering, and project management to support strategic initiatives, strengthen customer relationships, and ensure consistent, high-quality AV experiences.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills to lead complex AV service operations and resolve issues efficiently.Candidates should possess Budgeting and Program Management skills to oversee operational planning, cost control, resource management, and cross-functional project execution.Candidates should possess knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) or similar quality and compliance frameworks to maintain high operational standards and documentation.Demonstrated experience in technical operations leadership within audiovisual, IT, or related technology fields.Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop multidisciplinary technical teams in a fast-paced environment.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and process improvement.Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with internal stakeholders, partners, and clients.Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology management, business, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.Experience with AV systems integration, service management tools, and industry standards (e.g., AVIXA certifications) is highly beneficial.
