Job Details:Director of Technology Infrastructure & Engineering - Global Law Firm - $350-450kOur client, an international law firm, is seeking a Director of Technology Infrastructure & Engineering to join their team!.Role SummaryWe are seeking an executive-level Director of Technology Infrastructure & Engineering to own the overall strategy, continuous modernization, and operational stability of the firm’s global technology foundation.Directing a department of approximately 25 engineers and IT managers, this leader will drive the architecture, reliability, and security of both core backend cloud/on-premise systems and modern workplace technology. The ideal candidate blends high-level technical authority with executive communication, playing a key partner role to C-suite leadership in shaping digital transformation, vendor governance, and risk management across the enterprise.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Team ManagementLead, mentor, and build a high-performing systems and infrastructure division, cultivating a culture centered on operational excellence, continuous learning, and service accountability. Direct manager-level reports, providing strategic oversight on workforce planning, talent acquisition, and professional development. Align departmental objectives with broader business priorities, establishing rigorous service-level agreements (SLAs), operational governance, and risk mitigation strategies. Enterprise Engineering & Cloud ArchitectureDirect the operational roadmap and design for hybrid-cloud environments, focusing on platform scalability, automation, and continuous uptime. Oversee enterprise identity, access management, single sign-on (SSO), and public key infrastructure (PKI) frameworks to ensure frictionless yet secure user access. Drive the strategy for cloud ecosystem deployment, management, and governance (primarily focused on enterprise Microsoft cloud environments). Digital Workplace & Enterprise ApplicationsOversee end-user computing strategy, unified communication tools, and endpoint management systems across diverse operating environments (Windows, macOS, mobile platforms). Ensure high availability, governance, and performance for critical enterprise content platforms, specialized business databases, and document management systems. Manage corporate email delivery, secure messaging gateways, and productivity suite integrations. Operations, Security & Vendor GovernancePartner closely with Information Security teams to orchestrate vulnerability management, system hardening, and response coordination following external security assessments. Supervise core network services, load balancing, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), and database administration functions. Manage departmental CapEx/OpEx budgets, contract negotiations, and strategic relationships with major technology vendors and global platform providers. Professional Qualifications & ExpertiseExperience: 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience directing complex, multi-site infrastructure and engineering teams. Industry Experience: Strong preference for candidates coming out of prestigious professional services environments (e.g., global law firms, management consulting, investment banking, or financial services). Leadership Capabilities: Proven success managing teams of 15+ engineers and technical managers, with a track record of driving accountability and operational transformation. Core Technical Familiarity: Deep experience across enterprise Microsoft ecosystems (Azure, M365, Entra ID, Intune/MECM), virtualization architectures, storage networks, database environments (SQL, PostgreSQL), and VDI solutions. Executive Presence: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into strategic dialogue for non-technical senior executives and business stakeholders. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent technical field required.
