We are committed to great programming, exceptional service and social atmosphere, ensuring the expectations of our members, guests, and associates are exceeded. CCMO offers excellent dining, a 300+ capacity event center, challenging golf course, newly renovated tennis and pickleball courts, a large pool with tiki bar, and activities for all member families to enjoy. The Club is open year-round. Club-wide revenues will be approximately $9 million this fiscal year, with a healthy dues-to-operational revenue ratio and stable financial foundation. Our clubhouse renovation is nearly complete, which includes a fitness suite with new equipment. There are approximately 175 club associates during our most active months, serving more than 700 member households.POSITION SUMMARY: Director of Wellness & AquaticsReports to:General ManagerSupervises:Pool ManagersLifeguards Director of Wellness & AquaticsCountry Club of Missouri (CCMO) is seeking an energetic, knowledgeable, service-oriented Director of Wellness & Aquatics to lead the club’s fitness, wellness, and aquatics programming. This strategic leadership position is responsible for creating an exceptional member experience while developing innovative programs and services that make wellness an integral part of the CCMO lifestyle.The Director will oversee fitness and wellness programming, aquatics operations, individual and group training, staff development, and member engagement while collaborating with the Directors of Golf and Rackets and other club leadership and committees.Position SummaryThe Director of Wellness & Aquatics is responsible for the overall leadership, development, and delivery of the Club's fitness, wellness, and aquatics services. This individual will establish a welcoming, inclusive, and results-oriented fitness environment that serves members across a wide range of ages, abilities, fitness levels, health considerations, and activity interests.The successful candidate will combine strong fitness expertise with exceptional interpersonal skills, business judgment, and the ability to translate member needs and industry trends into compelling programs and experiences.Key ResponsibilitiesFitness & Wellness LeadershipProvide strategic leadership for all fitness and wellness programming and related services, utilizing the new fitness suite.Position wellness as a core lifestyle amenity through innovative programming, exceptional service, and engaging member experiences.Develop and implement a comprehensive fitness and wellness strategy aligned with CCMO's mission, vision, and core values.Establish annual goals and measurable objectives for fitness and wellness operations.Evaluate participation trends, member feedback, industry best practices, and performance metrics to guide programming and operational decisions.Make recommendations regarding facilities, equipment, staffing, programs, and services based on member needs and operational performance.Monitor the quality, effectiveness, and financial performance of fitness and wellness offerings.AquaticsOversee aquatics fitness programming and related member experiences.Coordinate lifeguard training, certification, and ongoing compliance requirements.Develop lifeguard and aquatics staff schedules.Provide individual and team coaching and development for aquatics personnel.Establish and manage aquatics team budgets in coordination with club leadership.Develop and promote aquatics fitness classes and programming.Maintain a strong focus on safety, professionalism, and exceptional member service.School of SportDevelop and grow an integrated School of Sport that connects fitness training with the Club's golf, racquets, and swimming programs.Responsibilities include:Develop fitness programs that complement golf, racquet sports, and swimming performance.Collaborate closely with the Director of Golf and Director of Rackets to create integrated training and performance opportunities.Participate in relevant committees and collaborative initiatives as requested.Help members understand the connection between strength, mobility, conditioning, injury prevention, and performance in their preferred activities.Fitness Suite ProgrammingOversee and continually develop group fitness programming, including offerings such as:YogaPilatesBarreHIITStrength and conditioningMobility and flexibilityFunctional fitnessOther emerging and member-driven wellness programsEvaluate class schedules, participation, instructor performance, and member feedback.Identify opportunities to introduce innovative programming that enhances member engagement and retention.Personal Training & CoachingProvide individual fitness training and coaching to members.Develop personalized fitness programs based on individual goals, abilities, interests, and limitations.Maintain a high standard of professionalism and member service across all personal training activities.Demonstrate the ability to effectively work with and coach a diverse range of clients, including differences in:AgeGenderFitness levelHealth and physical fitness, wellness, and aquatics personnel as applicable.Establish clear expectations for service, professionalism, safety, and member engagement.Foster a collaborative, positive, and accountable team culture.Manage departmental resources responsibly and within approved budgets.Ensure programs, equipment, and facilities are maintained to appropriate standards.Qualifications & ExperienceThe ideal candidate will possess a combination of professional fitness expertise, leadership ability, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for helping people live healthier, more active lives.Required or preferred qualifications include:Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health & Wellness, Nutrition, Recreation Management, or a related field preferred.Relevant professional experience in fitness, wellness, health, recreation, athletics, aquatics or club environments.Experience developing and managing fitness and wellness programs.Experience with personal training and group fitness programming.Experience leading, coaching, or supervising fitness or aquatics staff.Experience working with clients across a broad range of ages, fitness levels, abilities, and goals.Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills.Ability to analyze participation, financial, and member feedback data and use that information to make informed decisions.Strong understanding of current fitness, wellness, training, and industry trends.Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with club leadership and committees.Relevant CertificationsRelevant professional certifications are strongly preferred and may include:ACSMACENASMNSCATPICPR/AEDLifeguard and/or lifeguard instructor certificationsOther nationally recognized fitness, wellness, aquatics, or sport-performance certificationsNutrition education or certification is a plus, particularly the ability to incorporate sound nutrition principles into a comprehensive wellness approach while appropriately staying within the scope of practice for the individual's credentials.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and hands-on fitness professional
