Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob SummaryThe primary role of the Director is to set the strategic direction of the Projects Team, in consultation with the Departmental VP. The Director is responsible for Senior Project Managers who direct, and coordinate activities of assigned projects, or programs, to ensure that client and company goals are accomplished.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Director continuously evaluates departmental processes and their use of technology to ensure and improve effectiveness and to ensure that it's universally appliedEvaluate processes, procedures and technology of the Team with an eye towards continuous improvementDevelop new processes and provide training to other team membersEnsure the team is tracking appropriate KPIs and achieving superior resultsEvaluate new project opportunities and distribute tasks according to the skill set of team membersManage Project Portfolio's by leveraging data including: Profitability of Projects, Programs and Project ManagersEvaluate and manage non-billable time by Project ManagerEvaluate Project Management (as a percent of project cost) costs across the team and compared with other like projects (e.g. type and/or customer)Timely project completion (both substantial completion and punch list)Pipeline by person and projected capacity/demand by person and teamSelect, orient, and hire new employeesCoach, provide performance feedback, evaluate and counsel team membersEnsure assigned project team stays current with safety trainingMonitor, document, and provide safety training to group as requiredOccasionally visit project sites to conduct safety auditsReview audit results with Project Manager and provide feedbackQualificationsBachelor's degree (preferably in a field requiring critical thinking, leadership and communication skills) from an accredited college or equivalentMBA is strongly preferredTen to fifteen years of experience in Construction ManagementProven success in leading othersLEED Associate, State General Contacting Licenses, or professional construction affiliations a plusPMI Certification requiredMust possess a valid driver's licensePhysical DemandsThe employee must be able to lift and /or move up to 50 poundsPerform work on a roof levelSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus, determine full range of colors in work areas, drawings and mapping.Ability to move about commercial properties and construction sites, through tight passageways and corridorsOn feet as project task requirements dictateEqual Opportunity EmployerAs a leading provider of mechanical and electrical construction, facilities services, and energy infrastructure, we offer employees a competitive salary and benefits package and we are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success.
