Reports to: the Global VP – Portfolio & IPLocation: Hyderabad (Genome Valley), IndiaEntity: Meishi Pharma Services Pvt Ltd (India entity of Lotus Pharmaceuticals)Role PurposeDrive revenue growth for Lotus Pharmaceuticals by identifying and bringing niche, complex, and differentiated products into the internal R&D portfolio — products with high barriers to entry, limited competition, or technical complexity that create sustainable commercial advantage. Own the business case, secure CEO buy-in through data-driven recommendations, and govern the pipeline through stage-gate review, in close alignment with the Global VP – Portfolio & IP.Key ResponsibilitiesNiche & Complex Product IdentificationScan global markets for niche, complex, or high-barrier-to-entry product opportunities (e.g., complex generics, differentiated formulations, limited-competition molecules) that offer strong revenue and margin potentialAssess technical complexity, manufacturing feasibility, and competitive white space to prioritize products where Lotus can build differentiated advantageBuild the commercial and technical business case — market size, competitive intensity, patent/exclusivity landscape, revenue/margin projection, and development riskIdentify strategic API and formulation partners for products of strategic importance to the organization.Revenue-Driven Decision MakingPresent data-backed product recommendations to the CEO, framed around revenue impact, time-to-market, and competitive positioning, to secure selection sign-offPrioritize the portfolio mix to balance near-term revenue products against longer-term complex/niche betsTrack realized vs. projected revenue impact of selected products post-launch to sharpen future selection criteriaIP & Global AlignmentEnsure product selection avoids IP conflict and leverages exclusivity opportunities aligned with global strategyStage-Gate Portfolio GovernanceRun the stage-gate review process (concept → feasibility → development → filing → launch readiness) with go/no-go/hold decisions at each milestoneTrack portfolio health — pipeline velocity, resource allocation, risk flags — reporting the Global VP – Portfolio & IPCross-functional CoordinationPartner with R&D, Regulatory,Commercial, and Finance to validate technical and commercial assumptionsManage trade-off decisions when resource, timeline, or IP conflicts arise across the pipelineRequirements15+ years in pharma/life sciences, with strong experience in portfolio strategy, complex generics/product development, or business developmentTrack record of identifying and commercializing niche or technically complex productsWorking knowledge of pharma IP landscape — patents, exclusivity, freedom-to-operateStrong business case development and C-suite presentation skillsExperience with stage-gate or equivalent phase-review frameworksComfort operating in a matrixed global structureAdvanced degree in pharma/life sciences; MBA a plus
