Director - Production & Technical Integration

Job Summary:Manage the technical strategy, planning, design, and delivery integration across all ERC Events & Entertainment assets, including venues and stages, covering audio, lighting, video, broadcast, rigging, show communications, and technical infrastructure. Translate creative concepts and operational requirements into coordinated technical packages, ensuring alignment with ERC’s Master Plan and progression through design assurance, testing, commissioning, and readiness activities to enable safe, reliable, and operationally ready event delivery.

Responsibilities

Technical Strategy & PlanningDevelop technical strategy and planning requirements for all Events & Entertainment assets, including venues and stages.Translate creative concepts and operational requirements into comprehensive technical packages covering audio, lighting, video, broadcast, rigging, show communications, and technical infrastructure.Develop staging drawings, lighting plots, sound plans, rigging schematics, and related technical documentation to provide clear direction for production delivery.Define technical delivery methodologies and requirements to ensure consistent and reliable technical execution across Events & Entertainment assets.Technical Design & IntegrationManage the integration of audio, lighting, video, broadcast, rigging, show communications, and technical infrastructure requirements across Events & Entertainment venues and stages.Review technical packages and documentation for completeness, coordination, and alignment with creative and operational requirements.Ensure technical requirements are fully integrated into the Master Plan and relevant planning activities.Identify technical constraints and interdependencies and coordinate their resolution with relevant stakeholders.Monitor changes affecting technical requirements and ensure approved changes are reflected in technical documentation and plans.Master Plan & Venue IntegrationMaintain the venue and constraints library, including venue dimensions, rigging capacities, power availability, and other documented technical constraints.Assess venue and stage requirements against available technical capacities and constraints to support effective technical planning.Coordinate technical requirements across venues to optimize planning and reduce rework.Provide technical input to planning activities based on venue capabilities, production requirements, and identified constraints.Ensure venue and technical information is accurate and current to support production planning and delivery.Technical Standards, Quality & ReadinessDevelop and maintain technical production and safety standards for Events & Entertainment assets.Apply safety-by-design requirements to technical packages, plans, and specifications.Coordinate technical testing, commissioning, and quality assurance reviews to confirm equipment and systems meet approved requirements.Conduct pre-event technical inspections and manage technical sign-off checklists to support safe and operationally ready venues and stages.Support rehearsals from a technical readiness and system performance perspective.Monitor technical quality and reliability and coordinate corrective actions to address identified performance, readiness, and technical issues.Technical Coordination & ReportingCoordinate with relevant stakeholders to align technical requirements, documentation, constraints, interfaces, and readiness activities.Monitor technical deliverables, interdependencies, risks, and mitigation actions across Events & Entertainment assets.Report technical readiness, interdependencies, risks, and mitigation plans through relevant governance forums.Coordinate the resolution of technical issues affecting planning, design integration, or operational readiness.Conduct post-event reviews of technical metrics and risk logs to capture lessons learned and improve technical planning for subsequent events and activations.Educational Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Event Management and Organization, Media Production, Entertainment Management, or a related field.Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.Professional Certifications Preferred:PMP, CTS, or other recognized certifications in project management, technical production, event management, or a related discipline are preferred.Experience:A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience for a bachelor’s degree, with a strong leadership background and a proven track record of strategic decision-making.Nature of Experience:Extensive experience in technical strategy, planning, design, and delivery for large-scale events, exhibitions, venues, stages, or entertainment productions.Strong experience integrating audio, lighting, video, broadcast, rigging, show communications, and technical infrastructure requirements.Proven experience translating creative concepts and operational requirements into coordinated technical packages and production documentation.Experience integrating complex technical requirements into master planning, venue planning, and production readiness activities.Proven experience in technical testing, commissioning, quality assurance, safety-by-design, and operational readiness.Strong experience coordinating technical requirements and interdependencies across internal stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and multidisciplinary production delivery teams.Job Specific Skills:Strong knowledge of technical production systems, including audio, lighting, video, broadcast, rigging, show communications, and technical infrastructure.Strong technical planning, design integration, and production documentation capabilities.Strong knowledge
