We’re hiring a PhD student to join the Laboratory of RNA Design and Therapeutics at the Centre of New Technologies, University of Warsaw (CeNT UW). The position is part of our NCN SONATA BIS project, where we combine deep learning, RNA structure prediction, RNA design, and experimental validation to understand and engineer RNA interactions with small molecules. The project includes development of OpenRNAFold using RNA language models, computational RNA design, as well as SELEX and biochemical experiments. I’m particularly looking for someone interested in working at the interface of AI and RNA biology. A background in computer science, bioinformatics or computational biology is ideal, but candidates from molecular biology or biochemistry with strong computational skills are also welcome. The PhD student will work closely with our computational and experimental team, developing OpenRNAFold, contributing to RNA design pipelines, performing experiments, analysing data and ultimately bringing computational predictions into the lab for validation. Location: CeNT, University of Warsaw, PolandStart: October 2026 or as soon as possible thereafterApplication deadline: September 13, 2026Competition: CeNT-37-2026Contact: m.magnus@cent.uw.edu.plPlease share with students who might be interested in RNA, AI/deep learning, RNA therapeutics, or computational biology.
