It serves Wandoor and the surrounding 14 Grama Panchayats, a semi-urban region that previously depended on limited government medical facilities. Before NIMS Hospital was established, residents often had to travel over 80 kilometers to Calicut or Coimbatore for advanced multi-specialty care. The hospital now offers accessible expert medical services closer to home, addressing a significant regional healthcare need.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Doctors role based at NIMS Hospital in Nilambur. The role involves providing comprehensive clinical care, including assessing patients, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, formulating treatment plans, and performing or supervising procedures as per specialty. Doctors will monitor patient progress, update medical records, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, evidence-based care. Responsibilities also include counseling patients and families, participating in ward rounds, contributing to quality improvement and infection control practices, and adhering to hospital protocols and regulatory standards. Doctors may be involved in continuing medical education, case discussions, and mentoring junior medical staff to maintain high standards of practice.Qualifications Relevant medical degree (MBBS) from a recognized institution; postgraduate qualification (MD/MS/DNB or equivalent) in a clinical specialty is highly preferred.Valid registration with the appropriate Medical Council and eligibility to practice medicine in the region.Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to manage both acute and chronic conditions in a hospital setting.Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, communicate clearly with patients and colleagues, and provide compassionate, patient-centered care.Willingness to participate in shift duties, emergency coverage, and on-call rotations as required by the hospital.Commitment to ethical practice, adherence to clinical guidelines, and ongoing professional development and training.Experience in a multi-specialty or secondary/tertiary care hospital environment is an advantage; familiarity with electronic medical records is beneficial.Proficiency in English and local languages (spoken and written) is beneficial for effective patient communication.
