Leads the engineering documentation function by managing product data, documentation processes, and technical records throughout the product lifecycle. This role works cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and operations teams to ensure product structures, bills of materials, drawings, specifications, and engineering changes are accurate, controlled, and properly maintained within PLM and ERP systems. The position also provides leadership and development for the engineering change management and documentation teams while driving process consistency, data integrity, and continuous improvement initiatives.Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the engineering change management and documentation teams, including workload prioritization, performance management, mentoring, and developmentOversee the creation, release, revision, and archival of engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and related technical recordsManage engineering change processes including ECOs, ECNs, deviations, disposition activities, and release coordinationEnsure product data accuracy and consistency across PLM and ERP systemsCollaborate with engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and operations teams to support new product introduction (NPI) and ongoing production activitiesDevelop, maintain, and improve documentation standards, workflows, procedures, and configuration management practicesSupport implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of PLM and ERP systems and related engineering processesCoordinate cross-functional review and approval workflows for technical documentation and engineering changesMonitor documentation metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and process complianceSupport internal and external audits by ensuring documentation and records comply with company and regulatory requirementsAssist in troubleshooting product data, BOM, and configuration issues impacting manufacturing or supply chain operationsDevelop and maintain training materials, work instructions, and best practices related to engineering documentation processesDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process standardization, data governance, and operational efficiencyScopeRequires advanced knowledge and experience within engineering documentation, configuration management, and product data management disciplinesProvides leadership and direction to documentation personnel and cross-functional project teamsMaintains deep understanding of company products, engineering workflows, manufacturing processes, and business systemsSolves complex documentation, process, and product data challenges using technical expertise and critical thinkingAnalyzes processes and implements improvements to support organizational efficiency and data accuracyOperates with a high degree of independence, judgment, and accountabilityEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Technical Management, Business, or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing a technical or documentation teamExperience working with PLM and ERP systems in a manufacturing environment requiredStrong understanding of engineering change management, BOM structures, revision control, and product lifecycle processesExperience supporting cross-functional engineering and manufacturing operationsStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and related business systemsExperience with Atlassian Jira or similar project management tools preferredExperience with ISO 9001 or regulated quality systems preferred
