Domestic Heating & Plumbing Technician

About the role:We are currently recruiting experienced Domestic Plumbers to join a leading heat-pump installation business in Ireland.The successful candidate does not need previous heat-pump installation experience. We are primarily looking for a strong domestic plumber/heating technician who understands how plumbing and heating systems work inside people's homes and who can be trained in Irish heat-pump systems, standards and working practices.Essential experience:Candidates should have:Minimum 5 years' practical plumbing experience, preferably 7+ years.At least 70% of their experience in domestic/residential properties.Experience working inside occupied homes and working neatly around customers' property.Strong experience with domestic hot-water and heating systems.Experience installing and modifying radiators and heating pipework.Experience with hot-water cylinders/storage tanks.Experience with circulating pumps and expansion vessels.Good understanding of heating flow and return pipework.Experience with copper pipework and modern plastic/multilayer systems.Experience with domestic water services, valves, isolation valves and pressure systems.Ability to diagnose and repair plumbing/heating faults.Ability to read basic plumbing/heating drawings.Good practical problem-solving ability.Particularly valuable experiencePreference will be given to candidates with experience of:Domestic central-heating systems.Cylinder installations and hot-water systems.Heat emitters/radiators.Heating pumps and controls.System filling, draining, bleeding and commissioning.Replacing or modifying existing heating systems.Installing pipework in existing houses rather than only new construction.Working around kitchens, bathrooms and finished interiors.Basic knowledge of air-to-water heat pumps.Refrigeration/heat-pump experience (not essential)We are looking for people who are:English speaking Reliable and punctual.Clean and tidy in customers' homes.Respectful and professional with homeowners.Good communicators.Safety-conscious.Comfortable learning new technology.Able to follow instructions and Irish installation procedures.Practical problem-solvers.Interested in developing into skilled heat-pump installers.If you have the relevant experience and are interested in relocating to Ireland, please apply with an updated CV.
