Draftsperson

Our client is an established engineering design and project services consultancy based in the Illawarra, delivering engineering solutions across industries including steel, cement, quarry and mining, alumina and defence support.They are seeking a motivated Draftsperson to join their Design Services team in Unanderra. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with some experience in mechanical drafting who enjoys producing accurate, practical designs and collaborating with experienced engineers and designers.NOTE: The company will also look at candidates from a more junior level, with some AutoCAD, designing or civil/ structural drafting experience, or mechanical drafters who are still studying their TAFE or Degree qualification, who are looking to take the next step up.Working within a technically focused and collaborative environment, you will have the opportunity to continue developing your drafting capability while gaining exposure to a diverse range of projects and industries. The team values continuous learning, problem-solving, accountability, collaboration and attention to detail.The RoleWorking closely with senior designers and engineers, you will contribute to the delivery of engineering designs from concept through to detailed documentation. Your responsibilities will include:Developing 3D models and producing detailed 2D mechanical drawingsPreparing fabrication and construction drawingsProducing general arrangements and detailed drawings in line with engineering intentAssisting with engineering calculations under the guidance of project engineersApplying relevant industry standards and project specificationsParticipating in design reviews and supporting project deliveryWorking collaboratively with engineers and other design disciplinesProducing accurate, high-quality technical documentation and maintaining appropriate document controlAbout You:A Diploma in Drafting- or studying towardsExperience as a DraftspersonExperience with both 2D and 3D modellingExposure to software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks and InventorThe ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawingsFamiliarity with Australian design and drawing standardsStrong attention to detail and technical problem-solving skillsClear communication and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary teamIf you're looking for your next opportunity in the Illawarra and want to build your career within a hands-on engineering environment, Apply now!
