Dredging Development Engineer

As a Dredging Development Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and advancing technology within the dredging team. The primary purpose of the Dredging Development Engineer is to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of dredging tools used in Dredging estimation and control and to implement new innovations while staying up to date with the latest technologies.Principal Accountabilities: Conduct research and technical studies on dredging equipment performance, soil interaction, and production methodologies.Drive technical advancements in dredging processes and equipment, focusing on improving efficiency, performance, and overall operational effectivenessDesign and maintain digital tools to support production estimation, monitoring, and reporting (e.g., spreadsheets, scripts, dashboards).Support the integration of real-time dredger data and production logs into centralized systems.Assist in automating calculations, data processing, and report generation workflows.Design and implement rigorous testing protocols to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of dredging products and processesAssist the Dredging Development Manager in aligning development efforts with department priorities.Conduct experiments and analyze results to drive continuous improvements and support innovative solutionsDevelop and utilize digital twin models to simulate, optimize, and predict dredging operations, enhancing operational strategies and identifying potential issuesIdentify and implement opportunities to optimize dredging processes and equipment, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.Utilize data analysis and stakeholder feedback to drive process improvements and technological advancementsWork closely with key stakeholders, including the estimation division and operations department, to ensure technical developments align with operational needs and objectivesFacilitate cross-departmental communication to ensure cohesive and successful project executionExplore and identify key research areas and opportunities for innovation within dredging technology.Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and maintain competitive advantagePrepare comprehensive technical documentation and reports on project outcomes, ensuring clarity and precisionEnsure all activities and projects comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, quality objectives, and company procedures.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and industry best practices to ensure adherence and promote excellenceEducational Qualifications & Certifications:Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Maritime Engineering, Data Science, Automation System are preferred Minimum 05 years of relevant experience in (marine) construction and /or dredging is an advantageCandidate with big-data handling, machine learning skills are preferred.Knowledge of dredging technologies, equipment, and methodologies.Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends relevant to the dredging industry.Good communication skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesResults orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlinesAbility to work as part of a teamEager to learn and use new tools and softwareRequired IT Skills:MS Office, Matlab, PythonGit or other co-developing toolsMS SQL databaseCFD, FEM, or soil mechanic software
