Ecommerce Marketing Specialist$30–$34/hour | Full-time (40 hours/week) | Must live in the San Diego area[In-person work 2-4x per month, otherwise work-from-home/remote]About the RoleInnovation Ethos creates and operates its own consumer product brands and helps other product companies develop, launch, and grow theirs. Our work spans the full product lifecycle, from invention, design, and manufacturing to the websites, marketplaces, and marketing that bring products to customers. At every stage, we care about thoughtful execution, close attention to detail, and results we’re proud to stand behind.We’re looking for an Ecommerce Marketing Specialist to work directly with the owner across our in-house brands and client accounts. You’ll have real responsibility from the start and the chance to combine creative work with analytical thinking across many areas of ecommerce marketing. This is a good fit for someone who likes to learn, experiment, improve what is already working, and see the results of their work.What You’ll DoThis is a varied, hands-on position rather than a narrowly defined single-channel role. Depending on the day, you might improve an ecommerce product page, plan an organic social campaign, capture and edit video, launch and analyze paid ads, research Amazon keywords, or investigate a new partnership or market opportunity.You don’t need to arrive as an expert in every area. We’ll start with your existing strengths and help you build skills and take on responsibility in additional areas, including:Build and enhance ecommerce websites and social commerce channels, improving page layouts, product content, merchandising, and conversion performancePlan, create, and publish organic social media content while supporting audience engagement, collaborations, and affiliate relationshipsDevelop paid social ad campaigns from concept through execution, including content planning, photography and videography, visual editing, copywriting, and ongoing testing and performance monitoringUse website, advertising, marketplace, and social media analytics to identify meaningful trends and recommend practical next stepsManage and optimize Amazon advertising and marketplace content through keyword research, listing updates, bid adjustments, and performance analysisResearch and test growth opportunities involving additional marketing platforms, sales channels, and geographic marketsResearch customers and markets to identify product line extensions, unmet needs, and potential new product conceptsBring this mix of skills to both our in-house brands and client work, adapting to different products, customers, and business goalsAs your skills grow, the role will expand to include more responsibility for marketing strategy, budgets, channel priorities, testing plans, and client recommendations.Required QualificationsLocated within reasonable commuting distance of San Diego and available for in-person work approximately two to four times per monthBachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related fieldCandidates with another degree and relevant marketing experience will also be consideredDemonstrated interest and practical experience in at least one area of digital marketing, ecommerce, content creation, advertising, social media, or analyticsRelevant experience may come from employment, internships, freelance work, coursework, student organizations, entrepreneurial activities, or personal projectsStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear, audience-appropriate marketing content in each brand’s voiceAttention to detail and sound judgment, with a commitment to producing and refining written and visual work to a consistently high standardComfort interpreting performance data, identifying meaningful patterns, and using findings to recommend next stepsAbility to organize and prioritize multiple projects, manage deadlines, and follow through reliablyResourceful, adaptable, and eager to learn, with the ability to research unfamiliar topics and tools while asking for guidance when neededComfortable working independently and communicating proactively about progress, questions, and prioritiesPreferred QualificationsExperience with any of the following would be valuable, but none is required to apply:Ecommerce or consumer product marketingShopify or similar ecommerce platforms, including product pages, merchandising, or conversion improvementsOrganic social media management, affiliate marketing, or creator collaborationsRunning ads on Meta, TikTok, Google, Amazon, or other relevant paid advertising platformsPerformance analytics for websites, advertising, marketplaces, or social mediaPhoto and video editing and graphic design using Canva, Affinity, Adobe CC, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar content creation toolsSupporting multiple brands, client accounts, or projects with different audiences and prioritiesCompensation and Benefits$30–$34 per hour (annualized equivalent of $62,400–$70,720, based on a typical 40-hour workweek)Employer-sponsored medical and dental insurance15 paid vacation days, paid sick leave, and 10 paid holidays annually401(k) planIn a small business like ours, you’ll see your work put into action and make a meaningful impact.
