Its success is driven by a culture of professionalism, high performance, and collaboration among skilled staff and partners.Role Description The Economist role is a full-time, on-site position based in Ulaanbaatar, working within NOMIN Holding’s diverse business portfolio. The Economist will conduct economic research and analysis to support strategic decision-making, including macroeconomic assessments, market studies, and forecasting of key economic indicators. Day-to-day responsibilities include collecting and interpreting economic and statistical data, preparing reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management, and evaluating the economic impact of business initiatives and policies. The role involves collaborating with finance, operations, and executive teams to provide evidence-based recommendations on pricing, investment, risk, and growth opportunities. The Economist is also expected to monitor national and global economic trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments relevant to the company’s operations.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong foundations in Economics and Macroeconomics to analyze markets, policies, and business environments.Candidates should possess Economic Research skills to design studies, collect data, and generate insights that inform strategic decisions.Candidates should possess Statistics and Analytical Skills to work with quantitative data, build models, and interpret complex information.Candidates should possess clear written and verbal communication skills to present economic findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Candidates should possess proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, statistical software such as R, Stata, or Python) and business intelligence tools as an advantage.Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related field; a graduate degree is preferred.Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams.Candidates should possess knowledge of Mongolian economic context and regulatory environment; experience in corporate or consulting environments is beneficial.
