SVTI also serves as an associate in implementing services for foreign-assisted projects, offering exposure to complex and impactful initiatives.Role Description The Economist will work on-site in Metro Manila in a full-time capacity, supporting SVTI’s consultancy projects with rigorous economic analysis and insights. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting economic and statistical research, analyzing macroeconomic trends, preparing forecasts, and evaluating the economic implications of structural and infrastructure initiatives. The role involves developing evidence-based recommendations, creating reports and presentations for clients and project partners, and contributing to proposals and project documentation. The Economist will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage with external stakeholders when needed, and help ensure that project decisions are grounded in sound economic reasoning and relevant data.QualificationsStrong foundation in Economics and Macroeconomics, with the ability to apply economic theory to real-world projects.Proficiency in Economic Research and Statistics, including data collection, modeling, and quantitative analysis.Excellent Analytical Skills for interpreting complex information, identifying trends, and generating practical recommendations.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.Experience with statistical and econometric software (e.g., R, Stata, EViews, Python) and advanced Excel skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced project environment.Prior experience in consulting, infrastructure, or development projects, especially in the Philippines or Southeast Asia, is an advantage.Traffic forecasting and modeling in seaports, airport, road traffic dataKnowledgeable in economic analysis of feasibility studiesKnowledgeable in financialanalysis of feasibility studiesPreferably 10 years of experience
